Whilst some dogs are only visited by fleas, others have a whole host of external parasites to deal with. The more pests which frequent your neighbourhood, the tougher your dogs flea treatment needs to be. K9 Advantix dog flea treatment is the topical flea treatment offering protection from the widest number of external parasites.

If your dog is being plagued by mosquitoes and biting flies dog Advantix flea drops may well be their saviour. We know fleas are irritating, but they can also cause more serious problems such as dermatitis and anaemia. Ticks carry a wide range of bacterial infections such as Lyme disease which can be passed onto your pet. Mosquitoes pass on infections and parasites such as heartworms and biting flies carry problems such as leishmania for dogs. On top of all those health worries, all these parasites cause huge irritation and stress for our pets.

If you use a topical flea treatment, but live in an area where biting flies, ticks and mosquitoes also appear perhaps you should use K9 Advantix dog flea treatment.

The only other flea drops which even come close to the wide ranging power of K9 Advantix is Frontline Plus, so let’s have a look at how the two compare:

K9 Avantix Repels:
Fleas, Mosquitoes, Ticks, Biting Flies, Lice

Frontline Plus Repels:

Fleas, Ticks, Lice

K9 Avantix Kills:
Fleas, Mosquitoes, Ticks, Lice

Frontline Plus Kills:
Fleas, Ticks, Lice

K9 Advantix offers 30 days protection from all these pests. Frontline Plus gives 30 days protection from lice and ticks but up to 8 weeks protection from fleas (depending on the density of the local flea population). So, if biting flies and mosquitoes are a seasonal problem only, it might be worth considering using Frontline to keep the winter fleas and ticks at bay, and then switching to K9 Advantix when the mosquitoes and flies return.

Both K9 Advantix and Frontline Plus for dogs are available without prescription. The price difference between the two is minimal, with Advantix flea drops being around $6 cheaper for a medium sized dog's six months supply.

There is absolutely no point in buying your dog Advantix flea drops if biting flies or mosquitoes are not a problem. But if they are, they would thank you for that extra relief from biting parasites.

K9 Advantix is only available as a dog flea treatment. There is no equivalent cat flea treatment available, so our feline friends will have to continue dealing with the mosquito problem themselves. Although dog Advantix flea drops both kill and repel mosquitoes, they are not considered a heartworm medicine for dogs, because they cannot guarantee your dog will receive no bites at all. If heartworm is a problem in your area you will still need to consider using a regular heartworm pill in addition to using K9 Advantix on your dog.
