Keep Your Land Looking Neat With A Leaf Vacuum

By | Jul 26, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Everybody loves the different colours and the crunching of leaves underfoot that a crisp autumn day can bring. Nature has a great way of preparing for the winter as all the animals stockpile food and the trees shed their leaves. This shedding of leaves can sometimes bring a big problem to those gardeners who prefer their property to be looking the neatest it can be and feel the need too constantly tend to every loose bit of leaf or grass they can find. A great tool to help them in their quest is the leaf vacuum. Rather than manually raking up leaves and then having them blow away again, the leaf vacuum collects and stores the leaf debris, allowing you to put it in your compost bin or waste disposal, and more importantly, off your lawn!

When you have made the decision to purchase a leaf vacuum for your land you will have to decide on which type of model will fit your needs the best. If you have a wide expanse of land then it may be a wise decision to buy a leaf vacuum that is similar to a push along lawn mower. As it is mounted on wheels it is easy to cover larger areas and collect more leaves. If you have a smaller plot of land or you prefer to be more hands on you cab buy a leaf vacuum that is hand held but comes complete with a shoulder holster to take most of the weight. These are generally cheaper then the wheeled version so may be a good option if your budget is tight. One other major consideration you need to bear in mind is how your leaf vacuum is powered. There are both electrical and gas powered versions available and before deciding what to opt for, you should take into consideration the running and maintenance costs of both types.

Whether on wheels or hand held, a leaf vacuum can cover a large space in a very short time span due the length of the nozzle that comes with it. This makes it a lot more effective than purchasing a rake or even a leaf blower. Coupled with the fact that the leaf vacuum collects and stores the leaves in one go, rather than pushing all the leaves together and then you having to find another method for collection, means the leaf vacuum is a sure fire winner every time. There is little manual work needed, especially if you choose a wheeled model so it has greater benefit then the traditional raking method.

A commercial leaf vacuum work on the same principals of their domestic cousins but often make use of a higher powered engine. They rarely use electricity to power them, usually preferring gas power or petrol power as they are more portable and allow greater flexibility. Commercial leaf vacuums are also sturdier in design as they are built for use on a daily basis rather than the occasional use of the domestic versions.

If you are looking for a great solution to clean up the unsightly mess that leaves bring in autumn then a leaf vacuum could be a great addition to your garden tools. For those with any type of home and garden wisdom or knowledge it is an absolute no brainer. Why not consider a purchase today?
