Comparison Review: B145 and B60

Deciding which coffee machine you would like to buy is quite a difficult thing, there are so many different options out there that it can seem hard to know where to start looking. Fortunately this article compares two of the very best coffee makers that are on the market right now, thus making your choice just that little bit easier.

Have a think about your coffee drinking needs and then take a good look at the two machines I’ve talked about below before making a decision as to which will be the best one for you, your home or your place of work.

Brewing Options & Aspects

The Keurig B145 comes with 3 brewing options, so you have quite a bit of choice when it comes to creating the best cup of coffee for you. You can choose between drinking a 6, 8 or a 10 ounce cup, so if you have more time to drink a large cup, you can do just that. Alternatively, if you only have time for a small cup, a 6 ounce option is at your disposal. The Keurig B60 also offers three cup sizes, and they come in small, medium or large, which are the same sizes as the B145.

Time to Brew

The B145 takes just one minute to heat up the water for your cup of coffee, that’s not a misprint; it really does take just one minute. This means you can have enjoy a delicious cup of your favorite coffee in no time at all. Perfect for those times when you need one to get yourself going. The B60 brews your coffee in 4 minutes, which is quite fast, just obviously no where near as fast as the B145. While this may not seem as good, it can be advantageous if you wish to switch your machine on and get on with fixing a meal while you wait for your hot drink to brew.

Size of Water Reservoir

The Keurig B145 has a standard 48 ounce water reservoir, which is big enough to last you all day if you’re the only one drinking coffee. If there are a few of you making use of the machine, it should last for a few hours, meaning it won’t need to be filled that often. The Keurig B60 also holds 48 ounces of water, so should you decide to buy this coffee maker you will still benefit from a large water reservoir that will not need filling as much as some older models may.

Size (Dimensions)

When it comes to size, the B145’s dimensions are: 12 x 9 x 11 inches, which makes it quite a small coffee maker in comparison to many of Keurig’s other models. This is perfect if you do not have much room in your kitchen or office. The B60 is a little bigger than the B145, with the dimensions: 14.9 x 12.2 x 14.2 inches. Although this machine is a little bigger than the B145, it’s not bulky, and can still fit nicely in your home or your place or work.

Weighing 16 pounds, the B145 is perhaps one of the heaviest models about right now, but it’s not too heavy and should not be cause for concern. Please make sure if you plan to store this or any other coffee maker on a shelf, that the shelf is strong enough to hold the weight. The Keurig B60 weighs just 13 pounds, which is a little lighter than the B145, and ideal for your kitchen work top, or even somewhere in your office or bedroom.

Additional Features & Specifications

The Keurig B145 comes with a removable water reserve, making it very easy to fill and helping to eliminate spillages. It also comes with an internal drainable hot water tank and the opportunity for you to brew tea or even cocoa as well as coffee, making this coffee maker very flexible. Moreover, the Keurig B60 comes with a nice digital display that lets you know the process your coffee is currently undergoing, and it also tells you when it’s done. The timer is one of the handiest features as you can set it to make you a perfect cup of tea, coffee or cocoa whenever you please.

Conclusion - Should You Buy the B145 or B60?

The B145 and the B60 are very impressive machines, offering the owner a lot of options, helping them to get the perfect cup of coffee whenever they desire it. The B145 stands out as the clear ‘winner’, thanks to its stunning ability to brew coffee in just one minute. Now that’s impressive.
