Comparison Review: B145 and B70

If you know a thing or two about coffee machines, then you’re probably aware how good the Keurig brand is. This reliable and very capable brand manufactures many different models of coffee machines, helping to ensure every coffee lover has the chance to enjoy a perfect brew.

When it comes to choosing the right machine for you and your family or your work colleagues, things can get a little bit tricky. There are quite a few different coffee machines out there, so knowing which one to buy can be hard. Fortunately, I have compared two great models (B145 Vs B75) so you can see how good they are and get that little bit closer to choosing the right one for you.

Brewing Options & Aspects

The Keurig B145 has three different brewing options, in other words, you can choose between three cup sizes. This is handy if you’re not looking to enjoy the same sized cup every time. The B145 gives you the chance to choose between a six ounce, eight ounce and a ten ounce cup, which I think is quite a good choice. The Keurig B70 goes just that little bit further as far as brewing options are concerned. This lovely option comes with five cup sizes, which means you could have even more choice. From a large mug to a small shot of coffee, the B70 gives you perhaps the best choice you will get from a coffee maker right now.

Time to Brew

We all want to know how it takes for a specific coffee machine to brew us a cup of our favorite hot drink. The B145 takes a very impressive one minute to heat up the water, and brew you a cup of the good stuff. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a big cup of coffee or a shot, one minute is all it takes, helping you to get the caffeine you need, in no time at all. The B70 take a little bit longer to heat up the water, but the amount of time it takes is not unreasonable. Within four minutes the water in your machine will go from room temperature to hot. Although this is not as fast as the B145, it will give you time to fix yourself some breakfast or a bit of a snack while you wait for your coffee.

Size of Water Reservoir

The B145 has a 48 ounce reservoir, which means it will last for a good few hours before it needs refilling again, depending on how many people are using the coffee maker. The size of the reservoir means you can enjoy six eight ounce cups of coffee before you need to top it up with more water. The B70 comes with a very good 60 ounce water reservoir, which means it’s not going to need refilling for quite a while. Please note if you only want a few cups of coffee in the morning, you don’t have to fill the reservoir up completely; just simply pour in what you need.

Size (Dimensions)
The dimensions of the Keurig B145 are12 x 9 x 11 inches, which makes it quite a reasonably sized coffee maker, that should fit quite nicely on your kitchen work tops, or on a table or shelf in your office. The dimensions of the Keurig B70 are: 13.5 x 13 x 10 inches, which means it’s a little bigger than the B145, but that’s ok as it’s still a reasonable size, without it being too bulky.

The B145 weighs sixteen pounds, which makes it one of the heaviest in this range, but at the same time it’s not too heavy and can be moved with relative ease. The B70 weighs ten pounds, which is six pounds lighter than the B145, making it ideal if you need to move the machine because you want to clean around and under it. The weight also makes it ideal if you want to place the product on a shelf, but please make sure to test the shelf can hold the weight of the coffee maker, plus a full reservoir of water first.

Additional Features & Specifications

The Keurig B145 doesn’t just let you brew coffee, it also lets you brew tea and even a hot cup of cocoa should you wish. This is great news for those of you who want a change from drinking coffee from time to time. The B70 model has a programmable timer, which means you can have a cup of the good stuff ready for you when you want it.

Conclusion -- Which will you buy the B145 or B70? And Why?

When we compare the Keurig B145 and B70, it’s clear to see the B145 is the better model thanks to its ability to brew your coffee in one minute, and offer you a range of other drinks for you to enjoy too.
