Comparison Review: B60 and K65

It’s always good to have a great cup of coffee, but knowing which machine will brew the perfect cup is often a bit of a tricky subject. This is because there are so many different coffee makers out there, and it can be hard to know which one is the right one for you. Keurig are well-known manufacturers of coffee makers, and among their range they have 2 that stand out from the crowd because they give you a beautiful cup of coffee every single time. Let’s take a close look at the Keurig B60 and the K65 so you can determine which model is the right one for you.

Brewing Options & Aspects

The Keurig B60 coffee maker offers you the chance to enjoy 3 different cup sizes should you wish to. There are times when you don’t want a huge cup, so rather than having to throw some of the coffee away, you can simply choose a smaller cup size. Not only will this save you water, coffee and energy, but it will also ensure you have the perfect coffee ready for you when you need it. The Keurig K65 model will help you to enjoy 3 different cup sizes: 10 ounce, 8 ounce, and 6 ounce. The adjustable brew temperature is ideal if you usually have to wait for your coffee to cool down before you can drink it, which means it’s perfect if you’re in a bit of a rush.

Time to Brew

Amazingly, the B60 only takes 4 minutes to heat the water up for you. While some kettles may be quicker, coffee always tastes better if it’s been made in a machine. Once you have poured your first cup, you should ideally wait 15 seconds before you pour another, this is so the water can get back up to temperature once more. As with the B60, the K65 only takes 4 minutes to heat up your water. During the heating stage a red light will come on, and once your water has been heated to your desired temperature, the light will go out, so you know you’re coffee is ready

Size of Water Reservoir

With the ability to store up to 48 ounces of water, the Keurig B60 will certainly brew you as many cups as you need. Once the reservoir is full, it will give you 8 cups of coffee before it needs re-filling. This is great news if you have coffee-loving guests around, or a family who drink it at breakfast to help them get their day started. The Keurig K65’s water reservoir holds a very reasonable 60 ounces of water, which means you should be able to enjoy 6-10 cups of coffee, depending on the size of the cup you use each time. This is quite an impressive amount as some older machines only hold enough water for 4-6 cups.

Size (Dimensions)

When it comes to the size of the Keurig B60 coffee maker, the dimensions are as follows: 14.9 x 12.2 x 14.2 inches. This means the B60 is not a huge machine, but that it’s just about the right size to fit in the corner of your kitchen or even your office. The Keurig K65 measures at 14.9 x 14.2 x 12.2 inches, which means it’s a little wider than the B60, but the extra width is needed in the reservoir so it can hold a little more water.

The B60 has a shipping weight of 13 pounds so you won’t need to worry about having to carry anything to heavy. You may occasionally need to move the machine to clean around it, but this shouldn’t be too much of a problem as it isn’t heavy at all. The Keurig K65 has a shipping weight of 14 pounds, which is only 1 pound heavier than the B60, which we think is quite reasonable considering this model is slightly bigger.

Additional Features & Specifications

With the ability to program your B60 coffee maker, you can get the right cup of coffee whenever you need it. The stylish LED display lets you know when your coffee is done, and the removable drip tray ensures you can catch the smallest of spillages. The K65 coffee maker has a blue lit reservoir, so you can easily see how much water it contains, and the blue backlit LED display adds a nice tough to this lovely black and silver model.

Conclusion - Which Keurig coffee machine will you buy the B60 or K65?

While both coffee makers are very similar, the Keurig K65 is the clear winner thanks to its 60 ounce reservoir and ability to produce a delicious coffee exactly when you need it, thanks to the programmable timer.
