Comparison Review: K10 and K45

The Keurig K10 and the K45 are both excellent coffee makers, but when it comes to choosing between the two, it can be hard to know which the best one for you is. You will probably be looking for a machine that will make you that perfect cup of coffee, while being easy to use and maintain. This comparison article -- K10 Vs K45 -- will help you to choose between both models as it compares the two and helps you to understand exactly how they perform; helping you to understand which one is the best for you.

Brewing Options & Aspects

The Keurig K10 comes with three brewing options, which means you can enjoy choosing between three different cup sizes. You can choose between a six, eight or a ten ounce cup, which means you don’t have to drink the same amount of coffee every day if you do not wish to. Six ounces may be perfect if you’re in a bit of a hurry, but you need a coffee to get you going, eight may be for those times you don’t need to rush, and a ten ounce is perfect for those occasions when you can drink a cup of the good stuff at your leisure. The Keurig K45 also gives you three brewing options of exactly the same size, giving you plenty of choice when you need it.

It’s also great for those times when you just need a cup of coffee and you don’t want to wait too long for it. The K45 is a little quicker than the K10, as it’s capable of brewing you a cup of coffee in just one minute. This is great news for those of you with busy lives and you have no time to wait. As with the K10, the quality of the cup is not compromised.

Size of Water Reservoir

The Keurig K10’s water reservoir holds just enough for one cup, and as you can make a ten ounce cup; this is the maximum amount of water you can place in the reservoir at any one time. This does of course mean that this particular model is more suited to single use as opposed to it being used by two or more people. The Keurig K45’s water reservoir is capable of holding 48 ounces of water, which is a lot more than the K10. This makes it ideal if a few of you would like a cup of coffee, or you plan to be drinking one or two cups through-out the day. It also means you will not have to keep filling the water reservoir every time you use it.

Size (Dimensions)

The K10’s dimensions are: 10.8(H) x 6.9(W) x 10.7(D) inches, which makes this model a relatively small one, as you would expect from a single serve coffee maker. It also means it’s a good size to keep in your bedroom or kitchen. The K45’s dimensions are: 15 (H) x 13(W) x 15(D) inches, which makes it a little bigger than the K10, but the extra size is justified due to the larger water reservoir.

The weight of the Keurig K10 coming it at just 9.4 pounds means this model isn’t going to be too heavy for your bedside cabinet or a small kitchen shelf. It also means the K10 is relatively easy to move around should you ever need to. The Keurig K45 weighs 17 pounds, which is quite a bit more than the K10, but the bigger water reservoir will account for that. 17 pounds isn’t too heavy, and the coffee maker can still be moved easily should it need to be.

Additional Features

The K10 comes with a very efficient energy saving mode, and will switch itself off after 90 seconds, ensuring it doesn’t over heat or use up very much energy. The Keurig K45 comes with Quiet Brew Technology, ensuring you will not be disturbed as your cup of coffee brews.

Conclusion - Which will you buy the K10 or K45?

Both the Keurig K10 and the K45 are exceptionally good models that will brew you a delicious cup of coffee every time. If you’re looking for a coffee maker that is only going to be used occasionally, the K10 is ideal, but if you want to use it every day, and enjoy more than one cup, the K45 is the model you need to buy.
