King Bedding
The world has gotten to be so fast paced lately that even sleeping for some people can be a luxury. Sleeping can be a form of escape for most people and they would give just about anything and everything just to get a decent shut eye. They would buy the most expensive beds, beddings, softest pillows and so on. Not even cost can dampen the spirits of those who will do anything to ensure that their good night's sleep is assured. This is why some people go to great lengths in finding out the right bed, mattress and pillow size for them.
The right bed size for you
Bed sizes can be downright confusing. And they may vary considerably around the world, with most countries having their own standards. Case in point, while the double size appears to be standard among English speaking countries, based on the imperial measurement, the sizes for other bed types tend to vary. The European sizes differ, not merely because of difference based on the use of the metric system.
In the United States for example, the available bed sizes are:
- Single
- Twin
- Double
- Full
- Queen
- King
- California King
- Western King
- Eastern King
As you can imagine, even with the choices, it can still be confusing in picking the right bed for you especially if you were eyeing a king-sized bed since there are 4 kinds of standard king beds. The difference between them are as follows:
- Standard King or Eastern King beds are about 16" wider than a Queen bed and the same length. A King size bed is sold with two box springs or frames and one mattress. This makes it easier to move. As the widest bed commonly available in stores, the Standard King is the most comfortable for two adults
- California King or Western King beds are 12" wider than a Queen and 4" longer. This is the longest bed commonly available in stores and is the best choice for tall people. Like the Eastern King, the California King bed set comes with one mattress and two half-width box springs to be more manageable when moving. Very tall single people can sleep from corner to corner and still be comfortable. A California King size mattress is wide enough for two to sleep comfortably and is the longest bed commonly available. Its extra length is good for tall people. This very large mattress may be cumbersome to move and may not fit up stairs, through narrow hallways, or in small bedrooms. Like the Eastern King, the California King bed set comes with one mattress and two half-width box springs to be more manageable when moving. Very tall single people can sleep from corner to corner and still be comfortable
Super size my bed
Though the standard king size beds does its job well, there are people who still want a bigger one. Enter Super King Size Beds at a range of 180cm which offers all the extra generous length and width to foster a really comfortable sleeping experience. But of course, a super king size bed needs just as big of bedding as the bed. Super king bedding cost would normally be more than the regular beddings around but if it is bought as a set, like a super king size bedding set, then it could prove to be cheaper. It is likened to when you buy by bulk.
Different kinds of bedding
But before you can think of purchasing beddings, you need to realize that it too can be quite a confusing purchase. While we do know what we want as far as the feel and touch of the fabric is concerned, beddings can be a bit more complex than that. Since there have evolved so many different kinds of beddings around, it has elevated the confusion when one goes bedding-shopping. Whether you're shopping for home bedding, a boys bed or for your children's bedding, the wide array of choices can leave you perplexed as to which exactly to buy.
