Kissing Art for Decoration
Housewalks are a great way to find inspiration and ideas for your own home decorating. Sure, it can be depressing to see gorgeous homes, beautifully decorated, in perfect order and spotlessly clean, but you might be able to come away with a clever idea or two that you can reproduce at home. It's especially gratifying to find an idea that doesn't come with a steep, designer price tag, such as an artistically framed collection of "kisses" to decorate a long wall or hallway. It can create quite a statement as a themed gallery of "The Kiss".
There is the famous kiss in Times Square on V-E Day in 1945 that everyone recognizes, but there are numerous beautiful images of other romantic kisses, as well as tender kisses of a parents and children, and elderly couples. It's really easy today to find pictures by searching "images" on google, or on art websites. If the images are not copywrited, you can make your own copies at home and purchase inexpensive mats to make them larger. Black and white photos make a classic, old-fashioned look, but any grouping of photographs, framed in similar black frames from Hobby Lobby, Michael's and other craft stores, will create an instant collection that will catch the interest of guests immediately. It certainly caught the attention of everyone who passed the collection on the housewalk. There is nothing as memorable as a good kiss, whether it's one of passion, joy, or a sweet, gentle sign of affection. And who wouldn't smile at seeing so much kissing?
