I’ve always been a huge fan of the Imperial Shuttle from Star Wars and the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle (Set 10212) certainly lives up to the real thing. Its sleek lines and beautiful construction are up to far with what we’ve all come to expect from the LEGO Group.
LEGO Star Wars
The LEGO Group began making Star Wars sets many years ago and they have proven to be some of their best selling creations to date. You can build almost every main ship from the Star Wars movies, completely in LEGO bricks. Unfortunately, up until last year, there was one ship missing from LEGO’s inventory – the Imperial Shuttle.
The Imperial Shuttle
The Lambda-Class Imperial Shuttle appears in Star Wars Episodes IV – VI. It is used to shuttle Darth Vader, the Emperor, and other important Imperial officers throughout the galaxy. In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker sneaks past the unfinished (but fully operational) Death Star in a stolen Imperial Shuttle. He confronts his father, Darth Vader and turns him back to the Rebel side.

When you open the set, you will find 2,503 pieces waiting for you inside the box. Even though the set retails for $259.99, when you calculate the cost per piece, it comes out to about 10.3 cents per piece. This is very close to the 10 cent per piece rule of thumb that LEGO has stuck to for decades.

The ship itself has been designed to look as close to the real thing as possible. The minifigures-scale allows authentic rotating double laser wing cannons and a full-size four-seat cockpit. The wings fold up and down for in-flight and landing mode, just like in the movie. The colors and details on the wings are probably my favorite part of this model.

- Darth Vader
- Shuttle Pilot
- Imperial Officer
- Luke Skywalker
With these minifigures you can recreate some of the scenes from the movie!
When fully assembled, the ship measures 28 inches tall (on the stand) and 22 inches wide with the wings deployed. It’s up to you whether you want to play with this Lambda-class shuttle or set it on display on its included display stand. Either way, this model will look great in your LEGO Star Wars collection.
Where to Buy the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle
You can purchase LEGO set 10212 at many of your local toy stores and department stores. You can also find them online at places like Amazon and eBay (and you might be able to find one cheaper than locally).
Once you’ve purchased it and brought it home, allow several days for construction of this massive set. Once you have it built, let me know in the comments below how you like it!
