Full Review
Sometimes it can be a pain waiting for the weather broadcast on the television to display your areas forecasts and current conditions. One of the best ways to quickly and easily keep tabs on your particular area weather conditions is to purchase a high quality device such as the La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather Station.
What this innovative weather sensing device does is utilize some of the latest and greatest weather sensing technologies in order to predict future conditions and current temperatures via a remote wireless transceiver. The external device will report back to the tasteful looking indoor LCD base station with atmospheric pressure readings that allow for 75% accuracy when it comes to forecasting.
Not only does the La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather Station predict the weather with good accuracy but the home base will also provide the user with the indoor and outdoor temperature readings at a glance. One of the other cool features of the device is the ability for the home base to link wirelessly to the U.S atomic clock for the most accurate time reading you can possibly receive. Humidity readings are also provided to better inform the user of current weather conditions.
My father had bought a similar unit in an all black finish and I was impressed with all the features the La Crosse Technology had put into the device. I had made the decision to buy this particular model because of the nicer wood accents.
The range of the wireless unit is approximately 330 feet if you do not have any major obstructions blocking the signal, which was quite adequate for my application. I initially had a concern with wireless interference due to the low 915MHz operating frequency that the unit uses however no problems to date.
I love the La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather Station and I have observed in my experience more than 75% accuracy with regard to the forecasting function. The LCD screen is very legible and displays neat icons to show the weather conditions.
In Closing
I highly recommend this little device to anyone needing one of the most affordable feature packed home weather devices available. The only gripe I have is with the outdoor sensor not being as durable as I would like. I had made the mistake of placing it in direct sunlight which caused the plastic housing to fade. I would definitely advise to mount the outdoor unit where it is not in the direct path of constant sunlight and heat to avoid this problem.
