Las Vegas is known for its top notch entertainment and most of these shows cost a bit for tickets, but did you know that there are plenty of great free shows and music acts all year long?
For those making a trip to the desert in the coming months, here is a list of the best free shows and music acts the town has to offer.
Fremont Street has once again setup a summer series with some great bands. For those who like some head banging rock, Hinder hits the stage on June 8 and Puddle of Mudd makes a visit at the end of August. Both these bands have sold out amphitheaters and toured with some of the best rock bands in the last ten years, but you can see them up close and free this summer.
For those who don't mind taking a little drive outside the Strip area, Sunset Station in Henderson is a great spot for some good music. The Spazmatics bring a nutty to the stage while playing some of the best New Wave music of the 70's and 80's, making this a party you don't want to miss. Every Friday night at 10:00 pm you can catch this unusual act and with no cover and plenty of drink specials, be ready to have some fun and get your 'Groove On'.
Boulder Station is another great place to have a great time as the longest running music group in Las Vegas, The Lon Bronson All-Star Band hits the stage on Friday nights at the Railhead. This group has performed for nearly 25 years and plays a great mix of R&B, Rock, and plenty of Funk as they take you back in time and perform some of the greatest music his from the last 30+ years.
Looking for some laughs, Alexis Park Resort offers free admission to an Improv Comedy show every Monday night. Located just off the Strip, this show has new and seasoned comedians ready to make you smile and where else in the world can you see a great free show with such talent, only in Las Vegas baby.
Visitors already know about the free water and music extravaganza at the Bellagio or the great pirate ship battle in front of TI, but there are a few smaller shows that are family friendly and available every day of the week.
Silverton is off the I-15 just before you hit Vegas and this casino has some good entertainment with its fish feeding show located just inside the main casino. Mermaids and divers play and feed over 4,000 different tropical fish in their 117,000 gallon aquarium that has a 360 degree viewing area. The casino also has a great outdoors camping and fishing store with plenty of fresh water fish and life size animals displayed throughout the location.
Have a sweet tooth, take a visit to Ethel M's, located in Henderson. Learn how chocolate is made with a self-guided tour through the plant and when finished, you can purchase some goodies in the chocolate shop. Ethel M also has a beautiful desert garden with several walking paths, making for a relaxing time away from the big crowds.
There's always some great free shows and music when visiting Las Vegas, but these acts are among the best you can find and it won't cost you a cent. Just rememebr to bring a good attitude and enjoy yourelf, it is Vegas you know!
