Laser Blepharoplasty a better option for eyelid surgery
Eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure that is done to make sure that the puffiness around the patient's eyes can be reduced. The eyelid surgery is called as blepharoplasty. In a traditional blepharoplasty procedure the incision is made in the folds of the upper eyelid or the lower eyelid and the excess fat is taken out. This incision can take weeks or months to heal and also you need to take extreme care during the healing time. While the healing is going on you will have to make sure that you sit at home and that will mean loss of pay in case you are working.
The new better method for the upper eyelid surgery as well as the lower eyelid surgery is the laser blepharoplasty. Now, laser treatments are gaining popularity because of the fact that laser will provide that precise incision which eliminates the need for a big surgical knife incision.
In laser blepharoplasty the laser is directed at the eyelid and the laser beam will make a small incision in the eyelid. The laser will cauterize the blood vessels to prevent any bleeding. Less bleeding means that the doctor will be able to perform the surgery without any worries about the blood loss. Once the incision has been made the surgeon will then get the excess fat and muscle out of the eyelid. After the fat has been drawn out a minor suture is then applied on the incision.
This whole procedure will take a maximum of three hours. After the surgery you would be able to go home immediately. You can even start working the next day. Compare this to the traditional surgery where you may need to take leave form office for a few days.
The only disadvantage of the laser blepharoplasty is that it is way too costly than the traditional eyelid surgery and also the number of surgeons who do this procedure are less. You may need to find a surgeon who is hundreds of miles away form your residence. That can be a big hassle sometimes.
The eyelid surgery will give you a youthful look and you will immediately see the difference in your looks. You will look several years younger just because your eyelids are not saggy and they do not have that puffiness around them. Take time to find a good surgeon as that is really the key to a successful blepharoplasty treatment.
