Stretch marks are a problem that a lot of people around the world have to deal with. In fact, more than half of the men and women around the world have to deal with them. There are various reasons that they can occur, but in the end they look bad and can do a lot of damage to your self-esteem and body image. Thankfully, as the problem has become more significant, the technology has developed and there are a lot more treatments out there now. You don't have to have your stretch marks forever and there is always something you can do about them. There are treatments ranging from stretch mark creams, fight through to laser stretch mark removal. The latter has become more popular and it is one of the most effective ways to get rid of your stretch marks. Stretch marks can appear for a variety of reasons, many of which aren't avoidable. If you gain weight quickly for some reason, and you stretch your skin rapidly, then you will likely result in stretch marks. This happens of course when you are pregnant. Some people will not develop stretch marks and need laser stretch mark removal when they are pregnant because of their type of skin. Basically, the more elasticity that you have in your skin, the better off you will be and the less likely you are to develop stretch marks at all. They occur because the second layer of skin gets stretched tremendously, the dermis, and it basically breaks. This leads to internal bleeding and once the top layer of skin also stretches and becomes translucent, leading to a purple colored mark. Laser stretch marks removal surgery is very popular because it can help significantly to reduce the appearance of the marks, but it can also get rid of them completely. It works by removing a layer of skin which has the stretch mark and stimulating it to grow more skin. The new skin will have more collagen and elastin which will mean your skin is much more elastic and is likely to not get stretch marks there again. It is an effective treatment, and although laser stretch mark removal is a little expensive, it will work and you will get results that suit you. There are of course other methods that you can use, but they may not be as effective, it is a good idea to try easier methods to start and see what results you get before you go onto laser surgery for stretch marks.
