Laser Whitening For Teeth
When you are thinking about having your teeth whitenened, there are so many options at your disposal that it's not even funny. You can't turn one the television or radio without seeing or hearing a commercial for products or services that offer you a whiter smile instantly for cheap. You can't read one magazine without running into an ad that's offering you a free trial of the next revolutionary teeth whitening system. Hundreds of people have jumped into this market and many manufacturers all want you to believe that their whitening systems are the best!
The type of products that these people are pushing are things such as whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes. I've tried these myself and I've seen some results, just not much. The toothpastes and the mouthwashes simply don't have the ingredients that are powerful enough to achieve a significant amount of whitening.
The strip- and tray-systems are a lot better. These make use of carbamide peroxide, which contains hydrogen peroxide. It's the hydrogen peroxide that's responsible for all the significant whitening results. You can't get pearly whites from toothpastes and mouthwashes. Real results require hydrogen peroxide. So you can use these tray systems where you do the whitening at home, which gives you whiter teeth with relative ease. But there is one easier option available and that is laser whitening for teeth!
Laser Whitening For Teeth
When you want to have your teeth whitened by laser, you will have to visit a professional dentist to have this done. Only the dentist has the training required to wield such a laser. It is not available to consumers. The dentist uses the same carbamide peroxide as you will find in the at home whitening tray systems. The difference is, he targets the laser onto the gel while it is applied to your teeth. This accelerates the process.
When the carbamide peroxide is applied to your teeth, it will release hydrogen peroxide. It is the hydrogen peroxide that gets into your teeth's enamel. Inside of the enamel, colored molecules have stacked up over the years, making your enamel less transparant. This is what causes the yellow color of teeth. When these molecules are broken down by the hydrogen peroxide, only colorless byproducts are left. Your enamel is then once again transparant. The natural whiteness of your teeth is now visible again.
The same process occurs with over the counter whitening kits. But with teeth whitening by laser, this process is greatly accelerated. The dentist can give you a whiter smile in less than an hour, while whitening kits for home usage will take a week or more to produce the same results.
