Lena Eurovision Song Contest 2011

Taken by a Stranger

One time a year, singer and songwriter all over europe meet in one contest, to find out who wins the hearts of the audience across Europe. Its the most viewed song contest in the world. Despite that its also a place for many strange acts and so called euro trash. But a lot of countries take the contest quite serious, one of them is Germany. Celebrating it every year with a big outdoor party on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. But Germany also looks back of a long history of miserable defeats and embarrassing results. Until last year for the Eurovision song contest in Oslo one young girl was found to win the hearts of Europe. Lena Meyer-Landrut. This year, Lena is trying something hardly any Eurovision winners tried before, to win the contest again in her homeland.

Lena a 18-year-old schoolgirl was discovered in a casting show created by Stefan Raab, named "Unser Star für Oslo" (Our star for Oslo). She catched the attention from the first appearance in the shows with her unconventional music choice, her own english accent and her way to perform on stage. Lena was singing songs from Adele, Paolo Nutini, Kate Nashs, Lisa Mitchell or  Jason Mrazs. Each one of the songs she performed were entering or reentering the German charts after Lena's interpretation. In the final show she was performing three songs possible for the Eurovision Song contest. Each one of them entered the German single chart under the Top 5. With the winning song satellite written by Julie Frost and John Gordon Lena was ready to enter the Eurovision Contest. Lena took Europe like a storm with the song Satellite and won clearly the Eurovision Song contest. She got the nickname "lovely Lena" for her stunning performance. It was just about her with no big show. Only Lena in a black skirt with 4 background singer on a big stage.

It was the second German victory ever in the song contest and as a result the Eurovision Song contest 2011 is hosted on the 14th of may 2011 in Duesseldorf, Germany. And Lena is ready to take the challenge with a surprisingly different song. Lena's song for the Eurovision Contest is called Taken by a stranger, written by the Californian songwriter Gus Seyffert, Nicole Morier and the Norwegian singer Monica Birkenes. Lena is now more mature, like a lady. Taken by a stranger is a song that you won't forget. A spooky wired electronic sound  with the incredible voice of Lena. This song with Lena will be total different compared to all the other entries of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, despite some will try to copy her success with Satellite.
