As the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games come to Lexington, many people are wondering what else there is to do here. In this guide, I will show you fun options on attractions and restaurants. Lexington is the second largest city in Kentucky and the 65th largest city in the United States. Lexington is often called "The Horse Capital Of The World" because a lot of racehorses are bred right here in this city.

What To Do

If you're interested in horses, The american Saddlebred Museum offers lots of information on the history and the versatility of this beautiful horse.

If you're more interested in art, Lexington has got you covered. The Downtown Arts Center is an amazing place where you can find talented artists perfect their craft. The Art Museum At The University of Kentucky offers some of the best known traveling exhibits you could ask for. The Living Arts Center has art and science mixed in for a beautiful place to visit. The Kentucky Theatre has been the best place ot catch indie films since 1921.

If science is your interest, head over to The Aviation Museum. This museum houses great memorabilia from the evolution of airplanes.

Do you have kids with you? The Explorium has got you covered. This state-of-the-art facility is a top favorite with local kids. Not only this is a learning experience, but it is truly fun for the kids and the kid in you. The Kentucky Children's Theatre offers a creative outlet for Lexington's future shining stars.

If you are a history buff, head over to the Mary Todd Lincoln house. Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln lived in Lexington and this museum offers a look into the life of a former first lady.

If you love the outdoors, Lexington has beautiful places for you. One of these beautiful places is Raven Run Nature Sanctuary. Raven Run offers hiking trails, beautiful sounds of babbling brooks and over 200 species of birds. Another option is The Arboretum. The Arboretum has a gorgeous feeling of being one with nature.

Are you a wine connoisseur? Lexington offers some of the best wineries in the state. Talon Wineries is the proud winner of the Cabernet Sauvignon Medal Winner at the International Eastern Wine Competition. Jean Farris Winery and Bistro won the Diners' Choice Winner given out by OpenTable.com.

Craving some German food? Marikka's is the place for you. The servings that come out of the kitchen are huge. This restaurant is definitely a bargain. If you're wanting beer more than food, they have a separate entrance for the bar.

Are you looking for some nostalgia when you'd hop in your '55 Cadillac and head to the drive-in with your date? Relive that time with Parkette Drive-In. Don't be surprised if you see classic cars in the drive-in as it's a very popular place for the young and the young at heart.

Stella's Deli is a favorite because they have great food, great prices and a good portion of their fresh food is made right here in the Commonwealth.
