Minor Changes Can Make Major Differences
You can be healthier, and it does not need any major changes to your lifestyle, to live a happier, healthy life.
However, it does require a little thought. The following are a few tips for how you can make your life better with very little alterations:
Tip One: Get Fit with Others
Throughout life you are bound to do activities and outings with friends on occasion. Just remember that being active is much more fun with friends or family. Active lifestyles with people you know help you to become far more healthy and build accountability in your consistency of fitness.
So, next time your friends ask you what you want to do, don't go to a movie, instead, go for a hike, a bike ride, play wally ball, or some other sport or activity. You can make it a weekly activity that is both a social gathering, and a time to help improve fitness.

Tip Two: Add More Fruits and Vegetables to Your Diet
Fruits and vegetables are a great way to improve energy by adding vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Add more fruit to your current diet by doing simple things like cutting up a banana on top of your morning cereal or adding granola to your yogurt.
You can add fruit to the top of almost anything, oatmeal, cake, etc. You can also add vegetables to things you are eating such as smoothies. You can add an extra leaf of lettuce to your hamburger, or throw a few more veggies into your soup, etc.
Creativity is needed to add a variety of fruits and vegetables to your dishes. Raw food items are better than cooked because the cooking process can breakdown the valuable nutrients of the chosen food that you need.

Tip Three: Look for Physical Activities in Your Area
There is always going to be some physical activities going on around you. If you are in college, take advantage of the facilities at the college such as joining a gym or starting a running club with a group of friends.
If you are part of a church group, see if they offer any sort of organized sports like softball or volleyball. There are city leagues, intramurals, and other structured activities all around you, be sure to find one that fits your schedule, and it is a great way to stay in shape and have fun at the same time.

Tip Four: Practice Moderation
Let's face it, if you are told that you can't have a candy bar, you are going to want one, even if it has been years since you had one. Instead of telling yourself you can't have something, instead limit yourself. For example, do not just get rid of pizza altogether, but limit yourself to one slice.
Instead of never eating treats, make sure you balance them off with a lot of fruits and vegetables. You can eat junk food on occasion, but do so in moderation. Also, make sure that as you eat the treats, you also balance it off with the healthy foods too. If you have a donut for breakfast, do not get a snack out of the vending machine, instead get an apple or a banana, when that mid-morning munchies hit.
Live a Happy and Healthy Life
Tip Five: Get Some Shut-Eye
One of the easiest ways to improve your health without a huge change to your lifestyle is to simply sleep more. Most people try to make up for sleep with caffeinated beverages and high sugar foods, etc. Instead of trying to get more energy by eating or drinking something, consider going to bed earlier.
You can still see movies at night, just go to the seven o'clock show instead of the nine o'clock show. You can still do the things you want, just do them earlier, and get to bed by ten or eleven if you can help it. It will really help you feel better during the day.
