Text Gifting By Cell Phone

If you would like to make a contribution to charities that accept text donations by cell phone, you will have some great options to keep in mind.  This was popularized in 2010 from the efforts to raise money in Haiti and Japan as relief from the tsunami that ravaged the land and ended many lives.  This changed the landscape of fundraising for worthy causes by making it super easy for well-wishers to give by SMS.  There’s no reason to think this is going to change in the near future, so finding out now what groups and organizations will take these types of gifting efforts should serve you well in the future as well.  In this article, I will provide you with a good list to get you started, along with some information you may want to keep in mind before you make a donation by text to charity with your mobile cell phone.  Let’s get started.

***SPECIAL NOTICE TO PAY AS YOU GO CELLULAR USERS***  Most providers will allow this type of donation through prepaid.  Since most pay as you go plans are use it or lose it, where people forfeit the balance at the end of the month or term, why not give the leftover balance to a worthy cause?

I think it's a great idea to encourage people to give to charities. I definitely don't think it should be forced in any way. Thanks.
