When it comes to quality, durability and efficiency of agricultural devices and machinery, these manufacturers have proven track record to produce quality equipment.

The list of top 10 agricultural equipment manufacturers include:

1.  John Deere:  John Deere would have to be number one on this list or just about any other US based listing of the top companies in this market.  The equipment is well-known to last and their reputation is pretty much the best in the business.

2. International Harvester:  Sometimes called IH or IHC, International Harvester Company has been around for just over 100 years, having started in 1902.  The company is arguably the second best known agricultural equipment manufacturer, following only John Deere.  Many would argue that IH is the best and it’s not an outrageous claim.

3. Massey Ferguson:  This company was based out of Canada until it was purchased by AGCO.  It’s well-known to provide quality equipment for farmers and commercial users of agricultural equipment.  Many in the Ag business know this company well and use their products loyally.

4. Kubota:  A tractor and heavy equipment manufacturer based out of Japan, Kubota delivers the goods.  They produce quality tractors and farm machinery.  In addition, they have a very loyal following among those that purchase heavy Ag equipment.

5. Caterpillar: Perhaps Caterpillar, sometimes called CAT, should be a little higher on the list of the best manufacturers of agricultural equipment.  They make heavy machinery, and they are the largest manufacturer of mining and construction equipment in the world.  Even though you’ll see their equipment on many farms, they probably don’t belong higher on the list since Ag isn’t their niche.

6. New Holland:  New Holland has been around for a long time and they are known to produce  quality machinery for farmers.  They produce skid steers, backhoes, and just about any other type of machinery you can imagine.  You’ll see their products used in farming applications often.  The company was founded in 1895 and is still going strong.

7. Farmall:  They may not be around anymore, but just about every farmer in the nation still owns a piece of Farmall agricultural equipment.  They last for years and years and are produced by IH.  The company is known to provide high quality products that are value packed.  You can buy used equipment with confidence knowing that parts are still available for purchase.

8. Bobcat:  A subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand, Bobcat is well known for their skid steers, loaders, and other types of equipment.  This could be higher on the list, since you’ll see their brand on farms all over the place, but since they are primarily a construction equipment manufacturer, they are lower on the list than you may expect.

9. Mitsubishi:  They make agricultural machinery and are known to provide equipment that lasts for year.  The company has been around for many years and makes all kinds of heavy equipment that can be used on farms and in the general farming industry.

10. Ford:  Okay, they don’t make the Fordson anymore, but they were an important company in the path the industry has taken.  Although they quit making them in the forties, the Fordson is a wonderful example of how a company can change an entire industry.

The above agricultural equipment companies are the leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment like tractors, combines, balers, seeders, sprayers, harvesters and many more.

These agricultural devices are developed using the latest principles of agriculture, science and technology to help farms boost farm production and finalize their agricultural by-products. This article is poorly written and the author obviously has no idea what they're writing about. It seems that the author simply wrote their opinion based upon no factual evidence. The list of agricultural manufacturers appears to be based on nothing other than the authors own opinion. Many of the manufacturers listed were either bought out, merged, out of business or have very little or nothing to do with agriculture at all! In fact, it seems this author writes a lot of articles on subjects they know very little about. I guess that's what this website is all about, bullshit opinionated articles with no factual basis.

1. John Deere - This is the one the author actually got right. As far as I know, John Deere is the #1 manufacturer of farm equipment in the world.

2. International Harvester - Seriously? This article was written in 2011. If the author had written Case IH, that would have been fine, even though Case IH has been part of CNH along with New Holland (both of which are owned by Fiat) for over ten years. International Harvester hasn't existed as it's former self for nearly 30 years!

3. Massey Ferguson - I guess this one might be somewhat accurate, although New Holland would be right up there. At least the author mentioned that Massey Ferguson is owned by AGCO. Much of the Massey Ferguson lineup is a crossbreed of red-painted AGCO owned products.

4. Kubota - If International Harvester (an obsolete brand name) being listed at #2 wasn't a dead giveaway, here's where I realize the author really doesn't have a clue. What the hell does Kubota have to do with agriculture? I'm sure there are probably many Kubota tractors, etc. to be found on farms around the world, but they are not in any way, shape or form a full-line or top agricultural equipment manufacturer and should definitely not be #4 on this list.

5. Caterpillar - They haven't been in the agriculture business (not directly, anyway) since 2002 when they sold their Challenger lineup to AGCO (which the author failed to mention). Not only that, they were nowhere near a full-line manufacturer. They even outsourced parts of their tracked-tractors (the smaller ones had cabs and other components from Ford/New Holland Genesis tractors). They got into the harvesting (combine) business through a collaboration with CLAAS (who is, incidentally, not on this list and should be).

6. New Holland - Not a full-line manufacturer, but closer than at least two of the manufacturers listed above it. As I mentioned above, they're part of the CNH group owned by Fiat. There is a lot of parts sharing taking place between Case IH and New Holland.

7. Farmall - If I thought the author didn't have a clue before, now I know for sure. Not only was Farmall part of International Harvester (and therefore shouldn't have been listed on its own, anyway), but the Farmall name hasn't really been around for about 40 years. Sure, Case IH has had a Farmall series of tractors for a few years now, but it's nothing more than a marketing ploy, just like New Holland's Boomer 8N.

8. Bobcat - What?! You've got to be kidding me! Other than the occasional farm with a Bobcat skid-steer (most farms I see go with Deere, New Holland or Cat), they have nothing to do with agriculture! Bobcat is roughly in the same category as Kubota.

9. Mitsubishi - I'm not sure what country uses a lot of Mitsubishi farm equipment that would make them #9 in the world, but I've never heard of it. Seriously, Mitsubishi? Where's CLAAS? Fiat? JCB? Rostselmash (owner of Buhler Versatile)?

10. Ford - They technically haven't been in the agriculture industry for over 20 years. The last time the Ford name was on a piece of farm equipment was probably about 15 years ago. Sure, Ford was one of the top players for many years, but they have nothing to do with agriculture equipment (other than selling farmers pickup trucks).

The article is titled "List of Top 10 Agricultural Equipment Manufacturers" implying CURRENT manufacturers. It is very misleading and just plain wrong. There is no factual basis. I'm not even sure where the author got most of their information. Kubota? Bobcat? Mitsubishi? Farmall? Take everything you read on InfoBarrel with a grain of salt. In fact, I would just consider it all to be bullshit until proven otherwise. The idiots writing articles on here are just that. Idiots. They're doing it for the money they can get or because they think they're subject matter experts when they're not.
