Look A Decade Younger By Avoiding AGE's

Do you want to feel and look a decade younger? Forget about chemical peels, botox, or other invasive procedures. There is an easier, cheaper, and healthier alternative. Cut down on the amount of advanced glycation end products you consume.

Also referred to as AGE’s, this molecule speeds up the aging process. When an excess of sugar is present in the bloodstream it binds with proteins in tissues. That doesn’t sound too bad, right? Wrong.

Studies show AGE’s lead to conditions such as Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and heart disease. But wait, there is more. This molecule encourages  the potential for inflammation inside the body which leads to extra wrinkles and sagging skin. The good news is that it’s easy to control the amount of AGE triggering foods you consume by doing the following:

Avoid Grilled Foods

The process of grilling actually creates AGE’s which are most prevalent on charred areas of the meat or vegetable. Consuming that well done steak will introduce untold amounts of this molecule into your body. Go for healthier alternatives such as stir fried, stewed, or simmered dishes.

Wear Sunscreen

Being outside is good for you, but not without protection such as long sleeves or sunscreen. AGE’s are created when ultraviolet light penetrates the skin. Sunscreen prevents this process from occurring keeping your skin firm and wrinkle free.

Spices That Fight AGE’s

Did you know cloves and cinnamon can shave years off your age? Both spices are rich in two compounds  called beta-pinene and cinnamaldehyde. These antioxidants prevent sugars from binding with proteins, thus disrupting the AGE process. Adding half a teaspoon of both spices to your diet is a great step in turning back the clock.

On another note, should the urge for barbecue become overwhelming include these spices in the meal. The cinnamon and cloves will act as AGE inhibitors, decreasing the compounds damaging effects while allowing you to gorge on that well done burger patty.

Pop Vitamins B1 and B6 Daily

These vitamins naturally boost energy levels and combat father time. Not all multi-vitamins are created equal. Aim for supplements which contain at least 1 mg of vitamins B1 and B6. Top it off with 300 mg of alpha-lipoid acid. The vitamins prevent AGE molecules from forming, while the ALA supplement encourages cells to burn excess sugars found in the bloodstream.

These simple steps will shave years off your face, keep skin firm, and will prevent new wrinkles from developing.  As an added benefit you will find yourself feeling more energetic, refreshed, and vital.
