Looking at Quality Timberland Pro Series Boots, and Timberland Boat Shoes

By Edited Aug 17, 2016 0 0

For Comfort, Durability and Style, Timberland Beats Cheap Shoes Handsdown!

Whatever your profession or hobby, one thing we all need is footwear. And one thing we dont need is ill-fitting, cheap shoes that harm your feet and don't last.

Today I thought we would look at one particular brand of footwear - Timberland, and two of its product ranges, the Timberland Pro Series of Boots and Timberland Boat Shoes.

The Timberland range of Pro Series Boots is impressively large. There are styles, colors and designs for just about any need. You can get a steel capped model if you are working in an industrial, farming or mining environment, as well as the standard leather toe boot in many designs.

I have put in one picture of a Timberland PRO Men's Pitboss 6" Soft-Toe Boot in a popular sand color just as an example. You can almost tell by looking at it that it is well
fabricated, well designed and will be a comfortable fit for you no matter what sized foot you have.

Here are just some of the features that make this a quality boot for work, gardening or the great outdoors:

  • All leather upper
  • Rubber sole
  • Shaft measures approximately Ankle" from arch
  • Uninsulated, oiled full-grain leather upper for comfort and long-lasting wear
  • Goodyear welt construction for rugged durability
  • Removable, contoured sock liner for comfort
  • Timberland PRO rubber outsole; slip, oil and abrasion resistant

That full grained leather with the durable, hardy oiled finish will ensure this particular Timberland Pro Series Boot will represent value for money. And at just $90 to $120, it will outlast all those cheap mens shoes and boots that crowd out the market these days.

As expected this Timberland boot has been a winner with customers. Here is what just a couple had to say:

"GREATEST BOOTS EVER!!!I bought my first pair of these boots 4 years ago, and it's just about time for a new pair...You can bet I'm going to buy the same thing again!"

"Extremely comfortable work boot. Feels just as good at the end of the day as when you put them on in the morning!"

Hard to disagree with customer sentiment like that!

And now for the range of Timberland Boat Shoes.

Although these shoes are custom made for wearing on and about boats, I'm sure you'll agree that they are just so stylish and comfortable that you could wear them around the house, yard, or even when going out. The one I pictured below is the Timberland Men's Classic Boat Shoe, but don't worry there plenty of womens timberland boots and boat shoes available in their range.

Some important points about choosing a quality boat shoe, (also known as deck shoes). As this type of footwear is primarily designed to be used on marine craft, it is essential that they have certain built in features. Such as:

  • A weather resistant upper, that is at least moisture resistant.
  • A molded sole of a synthetic material, such as natural rubber or similar.
  • The sole needs to be of a 'high grip' style that is anti-slip on smooth surfaces such as timber or fibreglass decking - even when that surface is wet.
  • The sole needs to be of a light or natural color, so as to prevent leaving sole or skid marks on deck surfaces.
  • The shoe needs to fit the wearer comfortably, but snugly. This is to prevent twisting and distortion of the shoe when the wearer turns, kneels or braces on a wet slippery surface. This minimises the risk of a wearer suffering an ankle injury when undertaking such movement.
  • If elastic sided, the elastic should fit snugly around the wearers ankle/top of foot to minimise water penetration into the shoe. If laced, the laces should be able to be tied securely and not be of an excessive length, thereby minimising trip hazards.
  • A boat or deck shoe should if at all possible be bouyancy positive or neutral. This means that if lost overboard, the shoe should either float on the surface or just beneath it, and not sink.

The Timberland Men's Classic Boat Shoe is just that -  a classic example of a comfortable shoe with a grippy and non marking sole, to keep your deck clean. They come in a great price range of $60 to $95. Here are the other high points:

  •     All leather upper
  •     Rubber sole
  •     Rawhide lacing system allows for custom fit
  •     3/4 leather-covered EVA heel cup for cushioning support
  •     Rubber outsole for maximum traction and durability
  •     Upper stitched to rubber midsole, which is cemented to outsole for durability

Timberland Boat Shoe
As you can see, an attractive boat shoe with long lasting construction. Plenty of customers have been happy with this and the other Timberland Boat Shoes. Here are a couple of positive comments:

"High quality shoes. I bought this similar model in 1998... I still have that pair of shoes in good condition for daily normal use."

"This was the best value. I checked local stores, other online providers and this was the best price. I purchased these shoes to replace a pair that I purchased 7 years ago on vacation"

Well they certainly seem to pass the 'long lasting test'!

Well there you go. We all need shoes. We all want quality shoes for our comfort and safety. Timberland Pro Series Boots and Timberland Boat Shoes certainly fit the bill!
