Looking for a name, what about an Irish one?
When looking for a name for your newborn child it might be interesting to go back to your family roots. This brings a little history in the life of your child and that's always nice. As many people are descended from the Irish, why not checking out the many beautiful Irish names? Or what about naming your child in the traditional Irish way?
The traditional Irish way to name a child
Traditionally seen, the Irish name their children in the following way:
· The eldest son is named after his father's father.
· The second son is named after his mother's father.
· The third son is named after his father.
· The fourth or any other sons are given a name their parents like.
· The first daughter is named after her mother's mother.
· The second daughter is named after her father's mother.
· The third daughter is named after her mother.
· The fourth or any other daughters are given names their parents like.
Nowadays this way of naming children is less common. Nowadays especially the traditional Irish names are really popular, either in their original spelling or in an anglicized version.
As many Irish names exist, I will make a list of names that are amongst the most favorite. I will also include the anglicized version, as these also exist and are sometimes much easier to understand for others. The third list I will include is, a list of meanings, because it's always nice to know what the name your child carries, means.
