Lose The Stress: Ways To Pamper Yourself After A Long Week

It's been weeks since you've been able to relieve some of the stress caused by coworkers and the demands of your boss. It's time to focus on you. Doing so will not only get rid of those headaches. It's also going to help you be a more productive person when it's time to return to your job.

Take A Warm Bath

Heat helps loosen muscles and can help with any aches and pains you have. Grap a towel or a bath pillow and lay back. If you have a busy home life, take care of your responsibilities first (like putting the kids to bed or making dinner). Once the kids are tucked away and you're alone, run yourself a steaming bath and prepare to stay in as long as you want. 

As soon as your first foot hits the water, you're going to feel a lot better and the longer you're in, the more you'll start to relax. Just make sure not to have the water too high because you may doze off. 

Add Honey & Milk To Your Water

If you want to kill two birds with one stone, you can pour some milk into your water as well as honey. Honey is known for it's detoxifying properties and milk helps soften your skin. When you are ready to dry off, you'll notice baby soft skin. This was one of the methods used by Cleopatra, the Egyptian goddess.

Use Aromatherapy

Don't underestimate the power of smell. Just like a smell can make you vomit, a smell can also help you relax. Most people save their apple pie scented candles for the holidays, but they can actually help you forget about work and the stress of your busy home life.

Even if you decide to use the scented plug-ins while you're doing housework, it's still an effective way to energize your mind. While you're taking your warm bath, light some candles and place them on the sink or around the tub (just be sure there are no flammable objects around) and you're going to give yourself a double dose of relaxation.

Get A Massage


If really want to focus on your mucles and pampering yourself, get a professional massage. They're able to cater to your body's needs and you get to tell them what to do. If there is one thing most people don't get to do on a daily basis at work, it's tell someone else what to do. This doesn't mean you need to be mean to the therapist, but you get heard and the best part is a massage therapist listens.

If work has been affecting your posture, a proper massage will help put the spring back in your step. You could even make this a weekly habit if you're up for that kind of constant pampering. It's a revitalizing experience.



Meditation is a great way to get rid of stress. It's said to have even given people something similar to an outter body experience. The goal is to focus on your breathing and imagining a pleasant image. Doing this on a regular basis can help keep you calm.

Start with 5-10 minutes of meditation in a quiet area. You can start to extend the time of your sessions if you choose to. Completely let go of all emotion and just let your mind wonder. You're basically daydreaming except your goal isn't to control the thoughts or images. Just let your mind go wherever it wants to.

After you're done meditating for the day, you're going to notice you're in a much happier mood and have a lot more motivation and energy to get through the day.

Being able to get rid of stress isn't just a great way to unwind after work. It's a good practice to have when you're feeling emotional about something or just want to feel good about yourself.
