Lose Tummy Fat: Making It A Priority

1. Start walking for 30 minutes a day most days of the week:

You don't want to immediately jump into the deep end of the pool by starting to run an hour a day. Take it slow. Baby steps count too. That's why I recommend 30 minutes of walking most days of the week. It will have a big effect on boosting your metabolism which means it will be easier for you to lose belly fat. Remember to take things slow. You don't need to lose 100 pounds in 1 week, if you know what I mean.

2. Don't eat late at night:

You should stop eating food at least 2 hours before you go to sleep. A lot of us binge eat at night regularly and by setting a limit to when you can eat, you'll be less likely to overeat at night.

3. Drink tons of water:

I recommend you drink at least 10-12 glasses of water every day. This also boosts your metabolism which means you'll lose tummy fat faster.

4. Eliminate all sugary sodas from your diet:

Sugary sodas like cola are really one of your biggest enemies when it comes to this goal. It's the corn syrup that's a real killer. It's terrible for your health and it packs on the pounds really fast. If you were to eliminate only one food from your list to lose tummy fat this would be the one.

5. Eat more often but eat smaller portions:

The reason this works is because if you don't feed your body frequently enough, your body goes into survival mode and tries to hang on to as much body fat as possible. It's good for your metabolism

If you on the other hand eat more often but eat smaller portions of the right foods, this will boost your metabolism and keep your body from going into survival mode thus helping you lose tummy fat.

The right foods you should be eating include lean proteins and highly nutritious sources of fibre.

6. Interval Training:

After a couple of weeks of walking for 30 minutes a day, I would recommend you implement interval training as your new strategy to lose tummy fat. It boosts your metabolism. This revs up your metabolism and keeps it working at a higher level all day and all night long.

Studies have actually proven that interval training not only helps you burn fat but more specifically it helps you lose tummy fat.

7. Stand up straight!:

Maintaining a good posture works out your core muscles and also burns calories. Thus, standing up straighter and sitting with a better posture both help you lose tummy fat.

8. De-stress:

Stress has been shown to actually pack on the pounds on your belly... So if you want to lose tummy fat, you're going to have to start learning coping strategies for all the stressors in your life. Effective stress reducing activities include meditation, deep breathing, yoga, tai chi, listening to relaxing music, etc...
