Most dieters know that one item that they can eat an abundance of without worrying about weight gain is vegetables.  However, eating steamed veggies everyday can get so boring that you reach for the more fattening foods just to get some flavor in your diet.  Just because you are trying to lose weight doesn't mean that you don't have to be practical. Delicious Recipes With Veggies As A Part Of Your Weight Loss Program

Eggs N' Broc

  • As much broccoli as you want to eat
  • White or red onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1TBS olive oil
  • Eggs or Egg whites

Scramble your eggs or egg whites with a little milk, salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a skillet, sautee onion in the TBS of olive oil until brown.  Add in broccoli after you have browned your onions. You can add more olive oil if you wish but be careful not to add too much because 1 TBS of olive oil is 120 calories-so be careful.  Once your broccoli has come color to it, you can now add your egg mixture.  You can scramble the eggs or leave some bite to it by cutting it into quarters once it has cooked a little on one side.  Turn over the quarters and let it cook on the other side.  This makes a very hearty breakfast by itself.  You can also have it for dinner and substitute the broccoli for spinach or another veggie.  The key to the flavor in this dish is the onion and making sure the onion browns to unlock the flavor.

Easy & Yummy Cauliflower, Potato and Carrot Soup Recipe

Most of the obese people are worried about their big tummy. Reducing a big tummy with exercise is the hardest situation in a weight loss program. The Xenoestrogens is the hormone that increases the belly fat. Vegetable such as Cauliflower, broccoli helps to reduce this hormone secretion. Keep ready with the following ingredients to prepare this veggie soup:

  • Cauliflower florets - 2 cups
  • Potato - 2 cups (peel off the skin and chop it)
  • Carrot – 1/2 cup chopped
  • Onion (chopped) - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Diet butter or low fat butter-1/2 spoon

Add Diet butter on a medium-heat non stick skillet and wait until it melts; Add onions and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then add Cauliflower, potato and Carrot and cook until it becomes slightly brown. Add 2 cups of water. Cook it to 7 to 10 minutes until the carrot and potato are tender. Add salt and pepper according to your taste. Serve hot. You will really love this yummy low-fat soup and the cooking time will not exceed 15 minutes. This recipe has approximately 217 calories.

Tasty Teryaki Veggie Recipe

Tasty Teryaki Veggie is a good choice of Vegetable roll in your lunch or dinner. You can stuff this teriyaki in a Flour tortilla. This recipe is a mixed flavor of Asian and Mexican and you will really love the taste. Prepare the following ingredients to make this Teryaki Veggie Stuffing:

  • 1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 garlic minced cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced fresh Zucchini
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½  tablespoons reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
  • 1 flour tortilla, warmed

Using a small nonstick skillet, sauté the green pepper, onion and garlic in oil for 2 minutes. Add Zucchini; cook 3 minutes longer. Add and stir in teriyaki sauce; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until vegetables are soft.

You need to stuff vegetable mixture down the center of the tortilla and Roll up tightly. This food has essentials nutrients such as Carbohydrate, fiber, protein, sodium etc. We have added ½ teaspoon of olive oil and have not added any other fat items. Hence, it is an absolute recipe for tasty weight loss. This recipe gives 273 calories (with tortilla) approximately.

Spicy Sandwich low-fat fillers

Everyone loves to have spicy food once in a while than the boring steamed veggies.

  • 2 Slices Whole Grain Bread (toasted)
  • 2 tbs hummus
  • 1/2cup fat free Mozarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Romaine Lettuce
  • 2 small pepperoncini peppers, remove the stems and slice it lengthwise.
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Tomato slices
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

This Spicy Sandwich will be easy to make and is good stomach filler. First, spread hummus on toasted whole grain bread. You can use 1 tbs or 2 tbs as per your taste. Keep a slice of Tomato on both the slice. Sprinkle 1/2cup fat free Mozarella cheese on each slice of the bread. In a separate bowl, put 1/2 cup or less Romaine lettuce, pepperoncini peppers and add Balsamic vinegar. Stir it well until it mix properly. Add this mix above the cheese layer. Put both the slices together and you will surely enjoy this taste. This recipe gives 392 calories approximately.

Lip-Smacking Chinese Sietan Veggie Stir

Chinese recipes are popular throughout the world. We can prepare traditional Chinese food absolutely with vegetables. In this recipe we are using Sietan which is a substitute of meat. Sietan is not a soy product. It is a wheat product which is a source of protein. Keep ready the following ingredients to prepare this lip-smacking veggie stir.

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • ½  cup of broccoli chopped
  • ½ cup of chopped lettuce
  • ½  cup Sietan;  cut into ½ inch strips
  • 1/3 cup bamboo shoots
  • ½  cup sprouts of beans
  • ½  cup sliced mushrooms
  • Salt and pepper

Use a non stick frying pan as it takes little amount of oil. Heat two tablespoons of vegetable oil, add ginger and garlic and sauté it for two to three minutes. Add water wait until it boils. Add soy sauce, broccoli and Sietan. Stir well and cook it for 5 to 7 minutes in a reduced flame. Then add the remaining ingredients. Add salt according to your taste. Stir and fry until the ingredients are cooked. You can have this along with noodles. Cook noodles and then sauté it with this Chinese Sietan Veggie Stir. You can also have this lip-smacking stir with rice. It is a perfect low-fat recipe for a dinner or lunch. Lip-Smacking Chinese Sietan Veggie Stir is easy to prepare and the vegetables listed are optional and you can substitute with your favorite alternate.
