So, there you are in front of your closet, getting ready for a new season of clothes, only to find that your favorite jeans seem to have shrunk. You were sure they fit just right last year, but then again, you have not been on the scale and maybe, just maybe a few pounds could have crept on!

So, now you are looking for some easy losing weight tips. You hate diets, and exercise, so you also need easy ways to lose weight, and you need it off before you need to buy new clothes.

Well those clothes can be your incentive, and even if you only need to lose a few pounds there are some easy ways to lose weight, that won't have you with dieting anxiety. If you are willing to lose it just a little bit slower, you are likely to not feel a thing, and you will keep it off.

If you tend to try every fad diet and crazy exercise tool out there, lose a couple of pounds, then give it up and gain it back, then it is time to try something different. A few of my friends tried the fast way, and sure they lost some weight and fit their clothes, but within a month, they were low on energy and missed their favorite foods and gave up the so called easy ways to lose weight products and gained it back.

At the same time, I took a slower, more gentle way, and I got results, and after a month I was down about 3 pounds, and they had started gaining theirs back. I know 3 pounds may not sound like much, but that was just with some simple tweaks to my diet, and once I added a bit more exercise it sped up.

I needed to see that 3 pounds off first to know I was on the right track, and that it was a easy way to lose weight. Now a year later I was down over 25 pounds.. with very little effort.

Losing Weight Tips - Here are 10 easy ways to lose weight that may just surprise you. So get rid of any program that has you cutting out all your favorite foods and food groups, as you will not sustain that. Dieting is not something you do temporarily and then it is over, you will just gain you weight back. So it is easier to just take it a bit slower and make a few tweaks and you will lose.

1. Write Everything Down - This is not just so you know what you ate, but if you have to write down every snack and peanut and single chip you eat, you will think twice about adding to you long list of foods.. Make sure you have it all on the same page for the one day, so you can see just how much you are eating.

2. Get Rid of One Soft Drink or Calorie Drink - If you drink a few soft drinks in a day, replace one with water and a squeeze of lemon, or get some of that Crystal light (5 calories) and mix it in the water. If you drink coffee with 3 sugars, cut back to 1.5 sugars, switch your cream to milk. This will save some calories and not really bother you too much.

3. Buy a Pedometer - They say for good fitness, you should walk 10,000 steps per day. Wear your pedometer, and see how many steps you get on a regular day. If yours only says 1500 steps, don't be sad, then tomorrow, try and double that. Walk further to the store, walk around your office more, and take a quick walk after lunch, even if it is just down the office hallways.. Try to compete with yourself a little bit and get in more steps.

When you are aware of how many steps you take, you will subconsciously try and do better, then burns a few extra calories. Some pedometers can be programmed with your weight etc.. then they will tell you just how many calories you burned. This alone took some weight off me.

4. Losing Weight Tips - Switch Out Your Goodies - If you absolutely love your cookies or dessert, then why should you give them up? If you enjoy them, then just do some research and see if you can find a different brand that has a few calories less. Not diet or low fat brands, (tend to be tasteless) but just a different name brand and really look at the labels. Even if you can save 30 calories with your routine desserts or cookies, this helps and this way you are still getting your treat.

The minute you feel deprived you will give up. So, in order for this to work, you need to do some homework while shopping, and look at the labels of your cookies or desserts.

5. Switch Breads - I was actually surprised by the different amounts of calories in the "healthy breads" even those whole wheat and whole grains had some hefty calories in them.

This is one of those losing weight tips that can really help. Find a good whole grain bread that is approximately 170 calories for 2 slices. You can find them, at the same time take a look at some other brands and you will notice it may say similar calories but for only ONE slice. Make sure it is for 2 slices!

I was eating a "healthy 12 grain bread" but it was 270 calories for 2 slices. Both breads looked the same. So, I now am saving 100 calories in my sandwich without really noticing it.

6. Lower Fat Cheese - If you like cheese, then you may have to hunt around a bit for a good tasting lower fat cheese. But once you find it, it will be worth it. You can save a lot of fat and calories switching cheeses. If you add cheese to your sandwich and you don't want to give it up, then switch to the low fat cheese. If it is on your sandwich with other foods, you won't even notice the change.

7. Losing Weight Tips - Plan dinner - Plan dinner in the morning before work if you can or the night before. See if you can set yourself up with a crock pot. This is a great investment, as you can throw the ingredients in the crock pot or slow cooker the night before, and then plop in the container and plug in on low, your dinner will be ready when you get home. This will cut down on high calorie take outs, or snacking when you get home.

8. Walk the Dog - After dinner, or when it works best for you, plan to walk your dog for 20 minutes or so. If you don't have a dog, you can volunteer to walk a dog at the animal shelter a few times a week. That way you are committed and should show up. You don't have to go on a mile long marathon, just a few blocks and back. Don't forget to wear your pedometer and get in those extra steps.

9. Drink Water - Drink a glass of water when you first get up, it will kick your metabolism into gear (this helps to burn the fat). Plus try drinking a small glass of water before every meal. It will take the edge off and you will not stuff yourself. Plus the water keeps things moving.

10. Eat at least 5 Fruits and/or Vegetables - Even if you are stubborn and don't want to change a thing, try adding at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables to your day. You will find that you get full, and may not want to eat as much of your regular junk or snacks, and the fiber will help you to lose weight.

Remember, to lose one pound a week, you need to get rid of 3500 calories, or 500 calories per day. If you can lower your day by 30 calories here, and 50 calories there, and maybe burn off 50 calories here and there with some extra walking, you can quickly get up to the 500 calories without really to much change and soon be fitting in those clothes again!.
