The soluble fiber that you eat soaks up all the bad fat that is in your body and causes your bad cholesterol, soaks it up and expels it. You are not only doing your cholesterol levels a lot of good, you are helping your heart, your blood, your colon, in fact you are helping your entire system by eating more fiber. You should also be eating as many whole foods as you can. Whole foods are something that is provided by Mother Nature to us all. Anything that is provided by Mother Nature in its original state is a whole food, and is good for you. Once a human being has interfered with it, it becomes more degraded and less healthy for you.
