MLM Lead Generation Where Do You Look
There is a misnomer in multilevel marketing that you need to understand if you are really going to explode your business to the next level and beyond. It goes like this, pitch the people you know because they are going to trust you more and thus be more likely to sign with you. This may be true but do you really want people in your business just because they like you or because they are doing you a favor? If you are trying to build a money making machine the answer is no. You want people who are going to build their organization which will build your organization. This is the main criteria.
When you are working on your MLM lead generation program your main focus should be, will this person be active in building the business. The focus should not just be can I get this person to join. Now you may have friends and relatives who you think will do good in the business and by all means go after them with your pitch. But you will never build a truly powerful organization if you only try to get people to join who you know won't do any more.
Nobody ever got rich in this business by going door to door selling soap or cosmetics. They made money by finding the people who wanted a business of their own and who were willing to do the work necessary to get it. I am not saying you shouldn't bring people in who want to join to please you, because you do get a little bump for that, but these people should not be your main focus. When you are determining which MLM leads to focus your efforts on you must go after the bigger fish. You need people in your organization who want success and are willing to do the footwork required to get success.
This is different than how most multilevel companies will train you. They say to go after all your friends and relatives and their friends. From their perspective this makes sense because the reality is most people don't last very long in this business. If they can get you to sell the program to your warm list then they made money before you quit. But for you, if you want to make this a successful business venture spend your time on other potential organization builders.

I like the concept of an MLM where everyone is helping others to build their business and possibly wealth, but some people involved could be considered scammers which gives MLM a bad reputation.
Biga, I agree that your warm list should be viewed as possible customers, not business partners. At least not until they express interest. You should introduce the information to your warm list, but expect more from leads and business building outside of your friends and famliy.
I totally agree with your warm market concept. I was an MLM junkie for years and was fairly successful. I developed a system that helped me create a new warm market and just wrote about it here http://www.infobarrel.com/Get_Recruits_Through_Relationship_Building
