If you are in the number one position on Google for a particular keyword then you should expect to receive 40% of all the traffic that is searching for that keyword. If you are not making money with 40% of the traffic then you have chosen the wrong keywords. The method that affiliate marketers use to push their websites up the rankings in Google is by sending back links towards their sites. The more links that Google sees pointing to your site, the better of an authority your site will be in Google's eyes.

How do you get these links?

You get the links by making other sites and instead of linking to the sales page of the product that you are promoting, you use these new sites to point links back to your affiliate marketing site. Another way of doing this is to write articles for some of the article directories, put your link in the article, and you have another link pointing back to your site. If you rinse and repeat this process over and over again you will eventually push yourself up the rankings and you will make money online with very little investment.
