Make your Own Fruit Basket

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

A fresh fruit basket is easy to put together and makes for a great gift. They are a colorful, thoughtful, and tasty way to brighten up a kitchen. First, find a basket; decide how much fruit you are planning on purchasing so that you can get a rough idea of how large a fruit basket you need to look for. Fruit baskets that have a handle can make for a very nice decoration (and they are easier to carry).

Now it's time to purchase your fruit. Some good options for a fruit basket are apples,
bananas,
 oranges,
peaches,
limes,
 mangoes,
kiwis,
pineapple,
plums; the list goes on and on!

Arrange all of your fruit into the basket in the most attractive way possible. You can either fill the hull of the fruit basket with a filler in order to get the fruit to stand taller than the basket sides (for display reasons) or, you can fill it from the bottom up. Bananas are bulky and if they are not too ripe, make a good candidate for the bottom layer of the fruit basket.

Make sure to mix the fruit well so that the colors and varieties are well dispersed; the best way to do this is to fill the basket in layers. Make sure that the final top layer of the fruit basket has one of each of the fruits visible.

When a fruit basket is finished, all of the hues of the different fruits make for a beautiful display of colors and a great gift. Tie an oversized bow on your handle and you've got a ready to gift fruit basket. The best part about gifting a fruit basket is that it's actually healthy for the person, a bonus that a box of doughnuts just can't boast!
