Making money on HubPages is as easy as 1-2-3. Almost anyway. The fact is - it can be done and even better, anyone can do it. All you need is the drive and motivation and you're well on your way to earning a passive income. Of course it goes without saying that you need to be at least a little web savvy in order to attract organic traffic but the beauty of HubPages is this: the site is optimized for success. Google likes HubPages and HubPages likes Google. A great combination. Due to the SERP status of HubPages, pretty much anything you write and publish will be indexed. On occasion, this can happen within a few hours though it's more likely to take a few days. Once you start adding to your hub portfolio, you'll find that it's easier and easier to become indexed. The secret is this: top quality content (think along the lines of standards required for content writing) coupled with presentation and attention to detail. If you churn out crap your results will match. If you put some effort into research and deliver a well written article, the chances are that web surfers will find your hub/article. Making money on HubPages should follow suit. One of the great things about HubPages is that you've got a choice of several affiliates: Adsense, Ebay, Amazon and Kontera. Adsense is probably the most commonly used of the four affiliates and, providing you've got an Adsense account, it's a given that ad blocks will appear on your hubs. However, you can optimize for Adsense by using a little bit of hard work. Keyword research, learning how to 'manipulate' the ad blocks a little, some basic SEO knowledge and of course great content - and you're well on your way to becoming search engine friendly. If you prefer direct product review, then you may want to take a look at Amazon. Making money on HubPages using Amazon is fairly straightforward. All you need to do is create an affiliate account with Amazon then simply review Amazon products, whilst at the same time displaying your targeted products within your hub. There are a lot of HubPage users that enjoy a steady income from their Amazon affiliation and there's nothing to stop you giving it a shot. The same can be said for Ebay. Providing you're already an Ebay affiliate, product review type hubs are what you should aim for. Kontera is slightly different. As far as Kontera goes, you need to generate a lot of organic traffic in order to receive a payment from them. Most people don't use Kontera unless they're attracting hundreds if not thousands of visits per day. It's currently debatable as to whether Kontera is one of the best ways for making money on HubPages and for my part, I avoid using it.In Closing
Making money on HubPages is more than doable with a little know how. You will find a lot of helpful advice, both in the FAQ's and by simply asking for it in the forum. The site is awash with 'how to' hubs and there's plenty of HubPages help in general, therefore you don't need to flounder around in the dark. If you're considering joining HubPages, my advice is 'why wait?' The quicker you join, the quicker you'll learn the ropes and start making money online.

I just started in Infobarrel and was browsing on the take writers here have in HubPages, you are right on the money, especially about this "love affair" between HubPages and Google.
