Does Mangosteen Have Nutritional Value?

Of course it does!  It’s a fruit after all. Mangosteen, like many fruits, is packed full of vitamins and minerals.  Here's a short list of Mangosteen’s nutritionl values: vitamins A and C, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus.  As well, mangosteen is also a great source of fibre.

Vitamin A is essential for eye health and also for keeping your vision crisp and clear.  In addition, it plays a role in night vision or how well you see in the dark.  Vitamin C helps to fight off colds and flus and is essential for certain metabolic functions.  Most organisms on the planet are able to manufacture vitamin C in their own bodies, unfortunately human beings are not one of them.  Thus, we need to make sure we get enough of it in our diet.  Vitamin C deficiency in humans manifests itself as scurvy.  Potassium helps in nerve functioning by balancing the fluid level between cells and the interstitial fluid fluid. It also helps with muscle contraction.

Calcium is instrumental for building strong teeth and bones while iron helps to carry oxygen throughout the body.  Magnesium is used for many biological processes in the body and is even responsible, in part, for the synthesis of ATP which is what powers your body at a cellular level.  Finally, phosphorus is found in every cell membrane in the body where it is attached to fat molecules and known as a phospholipid.  So you see, mangosteen provides some very impressive nutritional value!

Anti-inflammatory and Antimicrobial Properties

Thinking of mangosteen simply in terms of what vitamins and minerals it has to offer would really be short-changing this marvel of nature.  Xanthones, for example, offer little in the way of nutritional value but are amazing anti-inflammatories as well as powerful antimicrobial and antioxidant agents. Mangosteen's nutritional value along with the amazing properties of the xanthones are what make it a truly amazing super-food.  In fact, it is this combination that is thought to be the cause of the increase in energy that people feel when they take mangosteen supplements.

The anti-inflammatories help to calm any pockets of the intestinal tract that may be inflamed and thus not able to process food correctly and so nutrients are able to be used properly (maybe for the first time in years!).  Once the 'calming down' has taken place, the intestines are bombarded with tons of great nutrition and are able to use every bit of it.  There really isn't anything else like it out there.

Super-food For Health & Wellness

Mangosteen Nutritional Values
Mangosteen is known as a super-food because it's so nutrient dense.  Super-foods are fantastic to incorporate into the diet because they make eating healthy simple.  Instead of having to eat three or four things to get all the nutrition you're looking for you just have to eat one.  It really is eating smarter.  And, with mangosteen supplements, it's easier than ever to take your super-food with you wherever you are.  Now there's no more excuse for not getting proper nutrition!

Fix your diet and your life will follow.  What does that mean?  If you feel good you'll have more energy, more zest for life and be a generally happy person.  You'll be able to do more things (without getting tired and run down).  Simply put, you'll be able to make the most out of life.  Who wouldn't jump at a chance like that?  Mangosteen is your ticket into the world of adventure and really living your life!
