Top gift ideas for the manly man in your life

Now, for some reason, women have a hard time buying for men. I'm not sure why this is. Most men are pretty easy to please in the gift department. It can, however, be difficult to buy something great for a man with whom you have an awkward relationship. Father in laws come to mind. This problem can be exacerbated if you have to buy a gift for a manly man. It can be hard, but below are some of the manliest gift ideas there are.

Top Manly gift ideas

Liquor - If you're a manly man, it's hard to argue with a good bottle of liquor. For a father, grandfather or father-in-law, a decent scotch or perhaps a good bottle of vodka won't be the cheapest thing you could possibly buy, but it will be appreciated. Even if the man you're buying for isn't a big drinker, most manly men like to have a good bottle of scotch around for special occasions. Consider gifting a nice flask with the liquor. Bringing booze where you ought not to is worth extra manly points.

Cigars - When it comes to manly gift ideas, cigars take the cake. They're reasonably inexpensive (for a decent cigar), and as with liquor, even if he's not a big smoker he will certainly appreciate the effort that went into such a manly man's gift. Extra points if you present the cigars in a humidifier box, or if you went to Cuba and got them first hand! A high-quality lighter will also be appreciated.

Annual magazine subscription - A great manly gift idea is to buy an annual subscription to a magazine about something that he likes. If the man you're buying for is into cars, trucks, driving, hunting, guns, fishing, models or pretty much anything else, there's a magazine out there that he will enjoy. The great thing about buying a magazine subscription is that it's a gift that just keeps on giving! He will remember your manliness and generosity anew every single month.

Shaving kit - A manly man grows a serious beard. So serious that he may find himself shaving twice a day. A nice shaving kit with a brushed foam applicator and high-quality razor is manly enough for any tough guy to appreciate. Just be sure to get him an old-school manual razor kit. An electric razor can go the other way and offend a true man's man.

"What's this, you don't think I can handle a blade boy?" Not worth the risk.

Hunting or Fishing gear - Nothing says quite says "I'm a man's man" like bringing home the bacon...or salmon, or venison. If the fellow you're buying for is into hunting or fishing, consider a good-quality reel or maybe a nice knife for filleting up this week's catch. If you do well on this one, you may even earn yourself an invite his next hunting trip with the boys.

Just remember, when it comes to manly gift ideas, that a real man can smell quality from a mile away. Don't think that you can fool a real man with a nice-looking but cheap bottle of liquor or worse, counterfeit Cohiba or Romeo & Juliet cigars! Doing this will get you nowhere, except in the hall of shame every time the story comes up around the dinner table. Buy high-quality manly gifts for birthdays, Christmas or any other occasion and earn manly points year after year!
