Okay, so if you haven’t heard about my Purpose 2011 goals and accomplishments thus far, you may want to check them out:
It’s been a long time since I last wrote a journal entry for this whole niche site goal thingy that I’m trying to do. It’s been really crazy for the past few weeks. I’ve been writing my butt of. In the past few days I’ve already written 35 articles that are each 1000 words or more. So it really has been crazy around here.
To reiterate my goals for this year, let me list them again.
- Find a Job
- Move Out of In-Laws
- Create 5 Spectacular Niche Sites (1 at a time)
- Gain Knowledge as I Go
- Become Much Better at Writing (or hire a VA along the way)
- Passive Income of $3000/month by End of Year
Purpose 2011 Niche Sites:
- 500 Unique Visitors per Day
- 100 Articles per site
- Each Site has a PageRank of 3
- Each Site Makes $500/month
- Each Site Gains 5 New Subscribers a Day
- Each Site Ranking #1 in Google for the KeyWord/s I set
So you can see that these goals are pretty lofty to say the least. But I have seen some fruition come to a couple of these goals. I did find a job. Currently I’m working at the local middle school as a night custodian. It’s not a glorious job, but it keep the creditors away. I ended up moving out of the in-laws place at the beginning of March. We’re living in the basement of a house and it’s pretty cold down there. But it’s cheap and pretty nice for the price. No complaints here, just blessed. I’ve created one niche site thus far that is on the top 10 of Google. It keeps jumping around and I think that others are fighting for the same keyword. So I plan to do something about that very soon. I’ve also began creating my second niche site, but not sure how that’s going to go because I didn’t really spend much time in the research department on this one. So hopefully I can find some great keywords to use for the site. And then get those up there in Google.
I do believe that my writing is getting much better. I’m much quicker and my vocabulary is growing. InfoBarrel has helped a lot with this. I’m forced to do my best for that site and produce quality work; so it’s forced me to grow and grow and grow. I definitely don’t see how I can produce $3000/month by the end of the year. These things take time and I need to find niches that many people are not in. But there’s a huge migration of people into the niche site market and it’s becoming tougher and tougher to do.
But the great news is that I’m seeing my Adsense earnings grow like crazy. I used to be so happy that I received a couple cents in a week. Now I’m seeing dollars. What a great feeling, knowing that your hard work is paying off. I’d love to see if it become passive in the future.
Plans for the Rest of 2011
As you can see, things aren’t going perfectly for me with the planning. But that’s okay. I just need to hunker down and figure out the next plan. I’d like to do a couple things for the rest of the year:
- Focus on my main niche site to make it #1 in Google
- Make my 2nd site much more professional and able to be #1 as well
- Start reinvesting the income back into the sites
- Maybe hire a VA if I can afford it
- Create an e-product for one of my sites
- Research where money is coming from in Adsense and tweak
- Create a Facebook fan page for each of my niche sites
So these are a couple ways I can improve over the next few months. I’d really like to gather data and see how I can grow my income by simply tweaking certain things. I wanna perfect it all.
What I’ve Done
In the last 10 weeks I’ve spent a lot of time creating backlinks on InfoBarrel, HubPages, and many other sites. Sites like social bookmarking and even StumbleUpon. This has definitely helped in the rankings. I’ve also been writing guest posts on PostRunner to help with gaining quality backlinks from many different sites. Just visit my profile and you’ll see a comprehensive explanation of each. This may be the biggest reason for my climb from number 17 to number 8. Now I just need to gain the last mile and see how much traffic that brings in.
I’ve found that even though we don’t reach our goals the way we think we should, these goals help us to continue on the path that we set out for. Don’t ever give up and you’ll see success. If you fail, that can only lead to success as well. It’s easy to get depressed at time because you don’t see progress, but don’t let that get you down. Trust me, it’ll get better. And money is not really the sign of success. Look at how far you’ve come and what you’ve done already. You are creating a unique portfolio for others to look at. At even down the road, these things may just be worth something. You never know. But persistence is key to being successful in everything you do. It’s also important to find balance. Take a break at times and fell alive. This may be the best time to get reenergized and ready to jump back into that hard work. I wish you the best of luck. Thanks for stopping by!
