It is believed that the wide ethnicity of the
people of Maharashtra commits Maharashtra its

has about 510 castes, sub-castes and tribes and other various groupings with
assorted lingual dialects and culture. This variety has been central and
helpful in bestowing the music to the platforms to which Marathi songs and
music stands firm today. For instance, the Maharashtrians (the people of Maharashtra) has been traditionally affiliated with dance
and music that does melodious plays and acts at spiritual, ethnic and wedding
occasions. These cultural events over centuries have added Marathi music to its
avid altitude among the average masses.
The music in Maharashtra has also been
regulated by the neighbouring provinces primarily Rajasthan and Gujarat which too has good musical inheritance. These
states use a variety of instruments which are used to compose songs and music;
such as the traditional sitar and the harmonium. They are these very musical
tools which are able of giving rise to beautiful and exotic audios in tradition
Indian music.
