Hurling is the national sport of Ireland and is played extensively by all school children in Eire. The name for Ireland (as Gaeilge) is Eire which appears on the nations stamps. Hurling is the world's fastest field sport involving a ball (sliotar or sliothar). Hurling has been played for thousands of years. Camogie is the female version of the game.
