The Tank Engine postage stamps were issued by Royal Mail in 2011 exactly 100 years on from the birth of the author of Thomas the Train. The Railway Series of books featuring Thomas the Tank Engine Train was written by Rev. Awdry, who was an English minister. Thomas & Friends, especially Reverend Awdry were honored by the Royal Mail, UK’s postal service.
