Smoothies for Faster Weight Loss

When trying to boost your metabolism for faster weight loss, it helps to eat foods which speed up your metabolic rate. Fruits and fruit juices are not only nutritious, but increase your metabolism. Using metabolism boosting smoothies for weight loss is an easy, tasty and quick way to get the nutrients you need for health at the same time as aiding your efforts to get in shape. Try some smoothie recipes and drink them first thing in the morning for breakfast, as a snack, or after a work out.

For a tasty banana blueberry smoothie place in a blender 4 ounces of low-fat milk, 2 heaped tablespoons of low-fat vanilla yogurt, 4 ounces of sugar-free fruit juice (apple, cranberry or pomegranate, for instance), 1 scoop of strawberry or vanilla whey protein powder, 1/2 a cup of blueberries, 1 chopped banana and 1 tablespoon of flaxseed (or olive) oil. Add some crushed ice if you like your smoothies cold and blend on a high setting for around 1 minute.

Try a green smoothie for a great metabolism boosting drink. Place 1 to 2 cups of filtered water (or ice) in the blender. You will need more water if you are using all fresh produce and less if some of the ingredients are frozen. Next add 2 teaspoons of green tea matcha powder, 3 to 5 cups of spinach, 1 cup of black raspberries, 1 cup of choke berries, 1 cup of concord grapes and 1 teaspoon of ground stevia powder (organic, preferably). Blend on high until smooth.

For coffee lovers, this vanilla espresso smoothie will be a real treat. Place in a blender 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder, 1 shot of espresso coffee, 1/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt, a pinch of stevia and a pinch of cinnamon. Add 5 crushed ice cubes and blend until the smoothie is of the desired consistency.

For something a little more exotic tasting, try an apricot mango smoothie. Place in a blender 6 ounces of fat-free apricot mango yogurt (reduced sugar), 1 cup of diet lemonade, 1/2 a banana (chopped), 5 to 6 apricot halves (canned is fine) and 1 scoop of whey protein powder. Blend on high for 1 or 2 minutes, depending on how smooth and frothy you like your smoothies.

When trying to increase your metabolism for weight loss and energy, smoothies are ideal. The ingredients include lots of nutrients as well as plenty of protein and fiber. The protein and fiber content keeps your energy levels up, while limiting your appetite, which is ideal for losing weight. Use metabolism boosting smoothies for weight loss along with other metabolism boosting recipes and you should fairly quickly start reaping the rewards.
