Microdermabrasion Skin Resurfacing

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

For some people considering facial cosmetic procedures to reverse the signs of aging, microdermabrasion treatment is something that definitely deserves a second look. It is minimally invasive compared to other procedures such as Botox injection or a facelift. This is a safer alternative option for reducing acne scars, age spots, wrinkles and other common skin problems.

The treatment is designed for those who want to fix smaller concerns on the skin of their face. It works by spraying micro-sized crystals across the top of the skin to remove the surface layers exposing the fresh, new, younger looking skin underneath. This is literally like sandblasting your face which doesn't sound quite as nice as microdermabrasion or skin resurfacing but is a relatively low risk cosmetic procedure.

A single treatment requires no recovery time and most patients experience little or no pain during the treatment. Some might experience a little irritation but a majority of patients return to their normal daily activities almost immediately after walking out of the clinic.

For maximum effectiveness, patients will be recommended by their doctors to schedule multiple sessions typically five sessions over approximately 8 weeks. Some may require more sessions and some less but the bottom line is that almost everyone is happy with the results because it is much less problematic than surgical procedures.

One thing that everyone wants to know when shopping for a product or service is how much it will cost. Since each treatment is tailored to the individual, it can be hard to give a definite answer without fully evaluating the patient. That said, the average is around $300 per session but can range from $100 to $500. Remember that is per session and multiple sessions will probably be necessary for full effect. So it is a low cost cosmetic procedure that can quickly add up.
