Minced meat topping and corn flour Pizza Dough for busy mothers

By Edited Dec 2, 2016 0 0

If you have a family to take care of, you will know how demanding that can be. You need to be everywhere and try to make everyone happy. It is a difficult task but a lot of mothers have found that the key to success is good organization and planning ahead. Planning ahead can also be done when it comes to cooking for your family. Here is how you can plan ahead and prepare minced meat pizza topping for your family

You will need to have a pizza dough or pizza base ready. You don't need to buy one, you could also prepare one yourself using the corn flour pizza dough recipe. For the minced meat topping, here is what you need.

A few kilos of minced meat (it depends on how much your family members it)

Onions

Green or Red pepper (you can have both if you like)

Herbs aka spices

Vegetable Oil

Cheese

Tomato sauce (ketchup)

Salt (optional not always healthy)

Any other vegetables that might take your fancy

If you've ever cooked anything for your family then this shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes. You need to chop or dice all the vegetables into smaller pieces. Heat up the frying pan for about 1 minute or until it is hot enough. Add a little vegetable oil and add all the chopped vegetables. Let the them fry for about a minute then add your minced meat and stir. You need to keep stirring until the mixture has a uniform appearance. You don't want to have a big lump in the middle. Once the meat goes dark you can add the herbs or spices to the mixture. You could also add a little salt if you do so desire. It is also a good idea to add a little bit of water so that the minced meat isn't too dry. You should add enough water but not too much. You are not making a minced meat soup. Cover the frying pan to keep the moisture and let it cook for about 15 minutes.

A good idea would be to make more minced meat than you would need. You can keep the rest in the freezer for a later date. That should save you some time when you do decide to prepare another pizza corn flour meal for your family. The idea as mentioned above is to plan ahead and be organized. You are a busy mother remember!

How do you prepare the pizza with you topping

  • Once the minced meat is ready and you already have your pizza corn dough. You will need to do the following:

  • Put the pizza dough in the frying pan and heat it gently. The heat should be really low if you don't want a burnt offering.

  • Add your tomato sauce (you can buy this or make it yourself see below for instructions) to the base of the pizza corn dough in the frying pan. You need to spread the sauce evenly on the dough

  • Add your cooked minced meat on top of the dough. Don't add the juice, add only the meat. Nobody wants a soggy pizza.

  • Add enough cheese as you like and keep heating gently. The heat will melt the cheese and you are ready to serve.

Making a pizza sauce

Get enough fresh tomatoes. Chop the tomatoes into smaller chunks. Add a little oil into a cooking pan and add the chopped tomatoes. Add chopped garlic and onions to the tomatoes. Add a little salt and turn up the heat. Add a little water to ensure that your pizza sauce doesn't become overly thick. After a few minutes, the tomatoes will dissolve to give you a consistent sauce. Let it simmer for a while and you are ready to serve. That is all there is to making a pizza tomato sauce. There is nothing stopping you from using the sauce for something else as long as you don't use it to paint the walls.
