Mini Blinds Cordless or Non Cordless What's Better
The allure of mini blinds is undoubtedly how cheap you can buy them. The usually come three kinds of materials - fabric, aluminum and vinyl. PVC by far is the cheapest material to buy and for less than $10 you can have brand new mini blinds on your windows in no time. Recently however more and more retailers are selling cordless mini blinds. Immediately one would assume they are better and they might even think of buying them instead.
The problem arises when you look at the price. The difference between ordinary black mini blinds and cordless mini blinds is 4 fold. Yes you have to pay as much as 4 times more in order to buy cordless mini blinds of the same color as the ones that come with cords. This shocks people and many even think that retailers are overcharging. Retailers are actually to blame because their marketing strategy fails to detail the many differences between cordless and blind with cords.
The differences extend beyond than just one mini blind being cordless and the other not. A simple example is the type of construction and material that cordless mini blinds are made from. They will usually be constructed out of the best materials while mini blinds with cords will use cheaper materials. The differences do not end there because cordless mini blinds are mainly manufactured by some of the most respected brands in the business. Cheap mini blinds with cords are often generic and even cost as cheap as $4.99. The there are the additions to cordless mini blinds, these include easier to clean material, better light filtering ability and also better insulation.
It is understandable why people are sometimes confused and even angered when they see mini blinds side by side and some cost $5 and others $50. I know I was disappointed but after learning just how much better cordless mini blinds were I changed my opinion. It maybe as simple as how much money a person has. If they have the money then they will probably by the better brand, if not then they will try to buy what they can afford. The problem here is that cordless mini blinds are safer than ones with cords. We all know how dangerous wires, cords and anything that dangles can be for children. My point here is that retailers should have cheaper cordless alternatives for people who are in such a position. Either way exercise your own judgment when shopping for mini blinds but in my opinion safety should always come first.
