Mini Donut Maker
Mini donut maker appliances are one of the latest gadgets to hit store shelves. I was lucky enough to get one of these little units as a present this holiday season.
After putting it to plenty of use over the past two months I figured I would write-up a quick review in case others were interested in picking one up.
The brand I received was a Sunbeam mini donut maker that was ordered from Amazon. I checked out the prices in my favorite stores like Target and Walgreens, but Amazon still has the best deals on these things. Before I ramble on even further, let me get to why I love my Sunbeam so much!
Sunbeam Mini Donut Maker
This thing is so cool I'm not sure where to start. One big reason I prefer it to other mini donut makers is that this one makes seven donuts, whereas other models usually produce six. That might not seem like a big difference, but think about what you can do with the extra donut. You can bring one to work for a snack, give one to your mail person, or send one to school with your child to give to their teacher.
To prepare the donut mix you have two options: you can pickup a box of regular cake mix from the grocery store or you can make your own mini donut recipe from scratch. I prefer to just whip together a simple box of my favorite cake mix and scoop it into the machine. This keeps the total preparation time under five minutes.
Then when you factor in only four minutes for them to bake, you will get fresh and warm donuts in under ten minutes! How cool is that?

Are Mini Donuts Healthy?
When I first got my donut maker I didn't think that I would get much use out of it because one of my New Year's resolutions was to eat healthier and get into better shape. I thought that eating donuts a few times a week would definitely hold me back from that goal, but to my surprise these are actually a pretty good choice for breakfast or for a midday snack.
The reason is that they are not your typical donut store variety of fried donuts. These are baked without all that grease and oil, so the only thing you really have to worry about is how much sugar you put in your cake mix.
