Golfing Minnesota vacations are available throughout the entire state but this article will fill you in on what is available in an around Alexandria, MN. Alexandria is located near Interstate 98 and along Minnesota State Highways 27 and 29. It is home to many golf courses, so you are sure to find one that fits your needs.

Minnesota Beauty

Geneva Golf Club is a public 27-hole championship golf course located in the scenic Alexandria Minnesota lakes area.  It was designed by Joel Goldstrand who is known as one of the Midwest’s premier golf course architects. The course consists of three nines; The Ponds, Marsh, and Island courses. There are five sets of tees which allow for the accommodation of players off all skill levels. The course features a variety of bunkers, trees, natural hazards and water which all help preserve the beauty of the land. Daily rates for 2011 start at $19.00 for 9 holes if you are walking and go up to$78 for 27 holes if you are using a cart.

The Red Rock Golf Club is located 17 miles West of Alexandria on Douglas County Road 25. It is a privately owned 9-hole, par 35 course. Its yardage ranges from 225 at the front tees to 3109 from the back trees. It uses the beauty of the land to showcase its course. It has tree lined fairways with open prairie shots that cut naturally through the hills near Red Rock Lake.  Daily rates start at $12.00 for nine holes and $18.00 all day. Golf cart rentals are available starting at $16.00.

 The Alexandria Golf Club in an 18-hole golf course in Alexandria that was designed by Gerry Pirk and Donald Brauer. This medium length layout features 6,544 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course is fun for players of all skill levels and has been open since 1915. The course remains in great condition which can only testify to the good management that the course has had over the past years. The green fees run around $65.00 with cart rentals starting at around $13.00.

Lake Miltona Golf Club  is located near Alexandria, MN  on the SE corner of Lake Miltona in Douglas County. It is an 18-hole regulation golf course that has an adequate length for a regulation course. It features 6,292 yards of golf from the longest tee with a par of 72. Designed by Don Herfort, this course offers some challenging and interesting holes that are good for golfers of all different skill levels. 9-hole fees start at $16.50 and 18-hole fees are $29.00. Cart rentals are also available for $16.50 and $26.50.

The Pine Ridge Golf Club is located in Motley, MN.  The 18-hole regulation course is 2,987 yards with a par of 36. Designed by Jim Dahland and opened in 1994, this course’s motto is “Take the Challenge of the Ridge.” The fairways of Pine Ridge are lined with oak and pine trees and the course has rolling fairways with water coming into play on three different holes. Green fees  start at a mere $10.50 with carts available for rent ranging from $9.00 to $12.50.
