Modern Bathroom Vanity Styles

By Edited Oct 27, 2013 0 2

In the last few years there has been a revolution in modern bathroom vanity styles. You no longer need to settle for the solid wood, hand painted, antique vanity that is probably in your mother's bathroom. There are now creative new developments in vanity styles that let you express yourself with a very trendy piece of furniture.

The first major development comes in the materials that are being used to create these stylish units. Years ago you would have had to pay thousands of dollars for a granite or marble countertop. However, today you can find synthetic versions of these materials that look exactly the same, but cost a fraction of the price.

Glass and metal are also being used in the construction of modern bathroom vanities. Using these materials gives you a cutting edge look that is sure to impress everyone that sees it. Most people only expect to see style like that in a trendy restaurant or hotel, so using them in your home can be a big hit. Another great way to get a modern look is to get creative with your choice of sink. Nearly every bathroom in every home has the standard white ceramic sink. This is so common that most people do not eve know they can get something else! Just as glass vanities are becoming a very hot design trend, glass sinks are also very chic. Try a glass sink basin that sits fully on top of the countertop. This is a great way to get a modern look in your home bathroom.

If you go with such an obviously modern design, you need to make sure that the rest of your bathroom matches. Find a great modern vanity and design the rest of your bathroom around it. If the rest of your bathroom looks like it's from the 70s then your brand new unit will look incredibly out of place.

What I have seen lately is that the 'newest styles' may not fit into every bathroom and the owner was more 'love with the new style' and did not pay attention to whether it made sense to put into their bathroom. For example, large fixtures in a small bathroom.
