Do you want to know the money making secrets of the top earners in the world? Do you want to know the tips, trick and techniques that they use to make an insane amount of money? I hope you do because that is the subject of today's article.

Before we get started, I want to talk a little bit about the two secrets to making money, or more specifically the two different techniques that people use to make money. The first applies to people that already have money and is concerned with making their money grow while the second applies to people who do not have any money and are trying to accumulate wealth. You see there is a difference.

The thing that you have to realize is that people who make a lot of money do not think like people who are poor. There are secrets of the rich mind, which are ways of thinking that are not explicit but implicit beliefs about money and the ways to make money. If you do not have a lot of money but want to learn how to make a whole bunch of it, you need to start thinking differently.

Forget Get Rich Quick

The thing that you need to realize is that get rich quick schemes are schemes that enable the people running the scheme to make money. The schemers themselves, the very people who claim to teach you how to become rich, are not, themselves, rich. No, in fact, they run scheme after scheme, robbing ordinary people who dream of big money from little bits of money at a time. They are (like the people they sell to) always behind on bills, in trouble with bill collectors and living to paycheck to paycheck. The way that they make their money is buy selling junk "make money" products to people like you who are desperate to start making more money.

The biggest money making secret that there is that people who know how to make a lot of money do not (ever) sell this information to strangers for $25 or $100 or even $1,000. This never happens. So, the next time that you are watching TV and you see some person selling you a real estate wealth secrets course, you should be advised that they are not selling you a $1,000,000 secret for $19.95. What they are actually doing is selling you a brochure for $19.95 that advertises yet more "Secrets" which you will then have to pay even more money to learn. And those money making "secrets" won't make you any money either!

These millionaire gurus have no interest in teaching you how they got rich for $19.95, no rich person does. The fact of the matter is that they do not have the secret to getting rich that they will share with you for $19.95. This is a scam and smart people (who are probably already richer than the average chump) never fall for this.

Because they already know the money making secret that is the king of all money making secrets. And that is that it takes money to make money. The more money that you have the more money that you can make. There are a whole bunch of strategies to build a person's wealth and there are a whole class of money managers who will help you grow your net worth. For instance, if you have $1 million, it is pretty likely that in less than 10 years you can have $2 million just by managing your money prudently. This does not take any act of genius.

The real secret is in making the money in the first place.

The reason that most people will never be rich is that they will never accumulate enough money (that is save enough money) for them to use to make more money. If you are like the average, median-earning American, you make less than $3,000 a month. And this is before taxes. If you want to maintain any type of worthwhile lifestyle you will have to spend a considerable portion of your income just on your expenses. You will never really get ahead.

Now, I know that there are personal finance gurus who will recommend that you live frugally and meagerly and that then you will be able to save. But, honestly, these people are not living in reality. In order for you to amass a million dollars in short order (assuming you are 25 years old) at a salary of $3,000 a month would be to save 50% and earn a market beating return return of 10%. I have to tell you that this is pretty unlikely. But, for the sake of the example, let's say that you are somehow able to save $1500 a month and that you are (somehow) able to earn 10% on your money each and every year. It will take you more than 15 years to earn a million dollars. And can you imagine the suffering that you would have had to endure, living on $1500 a month for 15 years -- If you are 25 that is the entirety of your remaining twenties and thirties.

Rich people do not live on $1500 a month. The first secret to making a lot of money is making a lot of money. I can not stress this point enough. If, like in our example above, you were making $10,000 a month and choose to live on $1500 you would be able to put away $8500 a month. If we got the same return as in the above example. You would achieve $1 million in just under seven years... But, after 15 years you would have amassed more than $3.5 million. Obviously, it is worth it to make as much money as you can.

This is the most important secret to amassing wealth that the personal finance gurus do not talk about. It is very difficult to become rich (unless you totally live like a peasant for a very long time) on an average salary. You might notice that none of the personal finance gurus make an average salary themselves, yet they tell you that you will be able to retire rich if you can only live on $1500 a month. Well why don't these personal finance gurus take a salary of $35K themselves if that is all that is required to finish rich?

Instead ordinary people buy the guru's books peddling this nonsense and these gurus earn more than a million dollars a year. And that is why they will finish rich... because they freaking make a million dollars a year.

You, on the other hand, with your $35,000 a year salary... You will not be finishing rich.

Unless you make some changes in your life. The number one secret to making money is making money. That may seem ridiculous but as you can see from the example above it is not. If you can maintain your present lifestyle, but bring in twice as much money, you will have twice as much money to invest and, as you know, with your money you can make a lot of money.

So how do I make twice as much money?

In order to make a lot of money you are going to have to work a lot harder and a lot smarter. For many people, the internet has become the vehicle that they use to make money. And I completely endorse this model. There are numerous money making methodologies that internet entrepreneurs use to make money. And they work. I am talking about ordinary people here who have increased their income dramatically by starting a blogging business or starting an ebay business or creating websites or buying and selling domains. The fact is that there are dozens of excellent business models that employ the egalitarian nature of the internet to enable normal, everyday people to make a lot of money.

If you are an intelligent person who is willing to work hard, there is no reason that you should be working for $3K a month. You aren't going to get rich unless you make a change. Like I said, I believe that the internet provides the best opportunity for you to increase your fortunes.

The first step that you should take should be to educate yourself. You may be surprised to learn that there are countless sites where techniques and training are exchanged for all of these money making methods and that the information is given away for free. If you are willing to spend a couple of weeks doing research on the internet, you will be shocked at how much you can discover. But do not spend years learning. Once you have found a strategy that seems like it will work for you... then throw yourself into it and do everything in your power to work, work, work. But you have to actually take that first step, taking action is the critical ingredient for success.

Now, I can go on about money making secrets forever, but I believe that I have said enough. If you truly want to make more money and join the ranks of those of us who live lives of leisure -- well, the rest is up to you.
