Motorola is a company that is a pioneer in the walkie-talkie space. They basically invented the two way radio for use in the military and now they remain among the industry leaders.
If you are in need of a top quality walkie talkie radio then it’s hard to beat Motorola’s offerings. They have some excellent long range radios for sale at very reasonable prices. Each of the following are highly recommended devices which are perfect for home or business use.
Top Long Range Walkie Talkie Radios by Motorola
Motorola MR350R Long Range Two-Way Radio – This walkie talkie is a top seller for various reasons. It is one of the longer range walkie talkies in Motorola’s moderately priced lineup. Selling in the range of $50 this two way radio offers a range of up to 35 miles and offers 22 channels with 121 privacy codes.
This walkie talkie has a hands free feature, a built in flashlight, weather alert features and power boost for more power when transmitting a signal. There is a reason why this two way radio is so popular. It’s probably the best one out there for the price.
Motorola MH230R 23-Mile Walkie Talkie Radio – Similar to the previous Motorola MR350R this radio also features 22 channels and 121 privacy codes as well as many extra features however the price is lower. This radio is still an excellent buy and a best seller in its own right but the range is a bit less than the long distance MR350R.
This radio also features the flashlight and the weather alerts; it doesn’t have the power boost which is why the radio doesn’t transmit as far but on the whole a 23 mile range is still pretty good. The battery will last you around 8 hours per recharge so this may not work for long days out but should work just fine for come and go work related tasks. Priced in the mid $30s this walkie talkie is a great option although probably not as compelling as the previous.
Motorola Talkabout MC220R 16-Mile Two-Way Radio – Lastly this top selling Motorola two way radio is the most budget oriented of them all. This is not a “cheap” radio but it is cheaper than its other options previously mentioned.
In my opinion it is the least compelling because the price point is only marginally lower than the Motorola MH230R. It can be found for the low $30s compared to the high $30s and the range on this radio falls to 16 miles from 23.
Even still most people who aren’t driving around a large city will do fine with a 16 mile radio radius and for the price and quality of Motorola it’s worth it. This is clear based on the large amount of people buying this model on the whole.
There are plenty of other walkie talkies by Motorola, many of which are priced much higher but for the average consumer these are the most popular at the moment and are worth checking out.
