Mouth Watering Crock Pot Recipes

By Edited Jun 23, 2016 0 2

Crock pots, also known as slow cookers, are a great way to make a home cooked meal in less than five minutes. Just add all the ingredients to your crock pot, put the cover on, set it to low, and enjoy coming home to a savory meal! It doesn't get any easier than that! Here are my top five mouth watering crock pot recipes.

Pot Roast

This one is a classic. Here is what you will need:

- 1 to 4 lbs of chuck roast (choose the size that will fit in your crock pot and serve the amount of people eating)
- Bag of baby carrots
- 2 French onion dry soup mixes

Add all the items in your crock pot, cover with water, put the cover back on, set to low for 8-10 hours (if you have less time then 6-8 hours on high) and enjoy!

Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwiches

This is my new favorite recipe. You can use any BBQ sauce you like, but my favorite is Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy.

- 1 to 4 lbs of pork roast (choose the size that will fit in your crock pot and serve the amount of people eating)
- 1 Onion cut up
- 1 liter of ginger ale
- 18 oz + BBQ sauce
- Hamburger buns

Add the pork roast, onion and ginger ale to the crock pot, put the cover back on, set to low for 8-10 hours (if you have less time then 6-8 hours on high.)

Take out pork roast and set on cutting board. Drain out the onions and soda. Cut up the pork roast - it will literally fall apart in your hands. Add pork roast back to the crock pot, cover with BBQ sauce, stir, put the cover back on, set to low for another hour.

Serve with hamburger buns.

Chicken and Corn Chowder

Great soup for rainy or cold days! Here is the shopping list:

- 1 can cream of potato soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 2 cans (4-6 oz each) chunk chicken
- 1 can whole kernel corn, drained
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1 can chopped mild green chili
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup milk

Add all the ingredients to your crock pot EXCEPT the milk. Place cover on and cook 4-5 hours on low. Stir in milk and cook for another hours.

Serve with crackers if desired.

Stroganoff

Any recipe that tastes great, is inexpensive and is easy to prepare is good find. This crock pot recipe only has four ingredients but is big on taste.

- 1 1/2 pounds stew beef cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of celery soup
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- Egg noodles

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker EXCEPT the noodles. Put the cover back on, set to low for 8-10 hours (stir occasionally if possible.)

Serve over egg noodles.

Chili Cheese Dip

Another recipe that is short and simple. This dip is great for bringing to potlucks.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can chili (no beans)
- 1 lb Mexican Velveeta cheese, cubed or shredded
- 1 can chopped mild green chili
- Bag of tortilla chips

First, brown hamburger, drain the grease off transfer it to slow cooker. Next, add the chili, cheese and mile green chili, place cover on and cook 60-90 minutes on low. Stir occasionally to blend the ingredients. Serve with tortilla chips when the cheese is melted.

These are great go-to meals for busy people - You've made them sound simple and delicious. I'll be back when the weather cools down and I feel like cooking again.
