Moving Blankets - The Key To DIY Moving

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

One of the most difficult aspects of moving is packaging and securing furniture. We all know that furniture while in transport can easily get damaged. You can either hire professional movers and that would cost you a lot of money. Or you can pack the furniture yourself with moving blankets. Yes such a product exists and for many years only professional moving companies used them. This is no longer the case today as you can purchase a wide range of moving blankets. Some are suited for large and heavy pieces of furniture while others are perfect for smaller and lighter items.

Moving blankets are similar to ordinary blankets but the main difference is the padding. This padding acts as a barrier or buffer and prevents furniture from breaking or getting scratched. The way to use them is simple, you simply wrap your furniture with them. If you are covering a large cabinet then you might need more than one. You would obviously have to tightly secure the moving blankets once they're covering the furniture. This can be achieved by using heavy tape or maybe even plastic rope.

Treat each piece of furniture individually and decide what type of moving blanket would be the most appropriate. If you have many pieces or sets of furniture then think about buying bulk. And keep this in mind, if you were to hire professional movers they would secure and package your furniture in the same manner. The only difference is that they will give you a bill that you will regret. Certainly you must be physically fit in order to handle heavy furniture. I am assuming that and if you are unable then don't risk your health. Moving blankets are only one aspect of a successful move and by successful I mean packaging and unpacking your furniture without any damage to them. So if you are planning on moving, do your research and read a moving blankets guide, because moving blankets can save you a lot of money.
