Multi Light Pendants Provide Stylish yet Functional Lighting

By | May 13, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Whether a dining space or an area over a kitchen island requires more light, multi light pendants can do the job. They can add style to the space as well. Many different types are available, but they all serve the same purpose, to provide adequate lighting to the area.

One advantage in choosing this type of illumination is that it only needs to be wired to one source. An existing light or ceiling fan may already be wired in the ceiling for such a device. If not, you may need to have an electrician or someone who is knowledgeable about wiring run the necessary power to the specific area in which the device will be placed.

Traditional and more contemporary devices come in a wide variety of styles. While the decor of the home may help determine which options will work best, the amount of additional illumination that is desired may also help in selecting a proper device. Some are made to provide softer light for warmth. Others are made to provide enough light to perform tasks such as food preparation or the completion of paperwork.

If the space is used for dining, a decorative set of multi pendant lights might be selected. There are simple models that contain two to three individual lights, with basic sconces or shades. Some models are contained in a box, for clean lines and a very contemporary feel.

Other products are designed with scrolls or other curved elements. They can contain as few as two and as many as eight individual bulbs, with stylish shades. While most styles contain separate fixtures that are aligned at the same height, others can provide multiple lights with graduated lengths.

Some models come with flexible cords or arms, while others, such as those with steel or wrought iron bases are fixed and do not move. Multi light pendants are a great solution for many different tasks or needs. Some are elegant enough to replace standard bedroom or living room fixtures as well.

Those with shades that are simple tubular glass coverings give the appearance of multiple lit candles in their holders. Others provide a base in which the separate bulbs and shades hang from, or are mounted to, giving the appearance of the traditional chandelier.

Theme lighting is also very common among the many varieties or choices. This allows for consideration of room or home decor. Prices for this type of illumination vary greatly, from around $100 for the simplest, to thousands for a more ornate or stately option.
