Mushroom Outdoor Table and Stools Set

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

A mushroom outdoor table and stools set might be just what you need to make your patio or deck look great and increase the usefulness of the living space.  The sets are available in many colors and sizes, so you can find exactly what you need to make your outdoor living space more enjoyable.  Best of all, this furniture isn’t that terribly expensive, so you won’t have to spend too much money in the process.  Believe it or not, there are several different types of materials used to make these, which ultimately helps to dictate the price you will pay for them.  In this article, I’d like to share some information about the materials used, the pricing, and some additional things you will want to think about when you shop for them.  You'll find them at several retailers and online.

Marble or Granite Mushroom Outdoor Table and Chairs - $800 and up

When you buy them made of marble, you could pay up to 3000 dollars, so you really need to consider what you want and need carefully.  Still, you can find them for as low as $499, which might fit your budget a little bit better.  For the most part, if you buy these made with a marble tabletop and base, you can expect it to be the most expensive option out there.

Granite is a very dense, natural material.  It is used for flooring, countertops and other applications and is suitable for outdoor use.  Still, in order to ensure it lasts for many years to come, you might want to take the time to seal it, so the stains don’t penetrate and set in.  This will help ensure your expensive furniture looks great for many years to come, and you won’t have to replace it nearly as quickly.  When you spend this kind of money, spending twenty dollars on a high quality sealer shouldn’t break you.  It’s worth the small price to keep it nice.

Keep in mind that granite will probably be hand carved, so the price reflects it.  While the tabletop and base are granite, it could also have sandstone, marble, travertine, and limestone as well.  This will help to reduce the cost, but still give you the fantastic look.

Wood Mushroom Table and Stool Sets - $150 and up

If they are handmade, they will be much more expensive, but they are still generally pretty reasonable.  You will find many of them use a tree trunk, sometimes complete with the bark, for the base, with a sawed piece of log for the tabletop.  Pricing will vary greatly, since the attention to detail and quality will vary greatly.

If you choose to buy one made of wood, you will probably want to make sure it’s sealed to protect it from the elements. While generally very sturdy, wood is prone to rot.  Untreated pine, for example, can begin to decay after just a couple of seasons.  By contrast, cedar or redwood naturally resists rot and decay and could literally last for decades to come.

Cement Outdoor Mushroom Furniture - $200 and up

This is generally poured into a preformed mold and left to set up and cure properly.  It is very heavy, making it difficult to move around, but it also lasts for a long time and can be stamped or stained, just as other things made of cement can.  It’s a good option for almost anyone, provided it doesn’t need to be moved around much.

When left natural in color, the sun won’t really bother the outdoor furniture set, so it can be left outside during the cold winter months and the summer months.  For the most part, it will be one of the longer lasting materials they use to make these things, so you will probably own it for many years to come.

Fiberglass Mushroom Table and Stools - $75 and up

You can find a cheap mushroom table and chair set if it’s made of fiberglass.  In fact, this is the cheapest option you will generally find, although resin is very comparable.  These are molded, not hand carved, which reduces the cost of construction, materials, and manufacturing.  The saving are passed on to the consumer, where the final product ends up being much cheaper than most of the others.

Fiberglass is suitable for outdoor use, but it is somewhat limited.  It’s not going to be quite as strong and sturdy as some of the others, as reflected in the price.  In addition to this, it might be prone to fading in the sun, so if it’s in a covered area or covered when not in use, it will look much nicer for a lot longer period of time.  On the bright side, though, it’s very lightweight, so it’s easy to rearrange and move around for storage.  You will like this when the autumn season comes and it’s time to put away the outdoor furniture set.  It will be a much easier task for certain.

Plastic Resin Mushroom Table and Stool Sets - $50 and up

Plastic is quite versatile and can actually be pretty sturdy.  While it’s one of the cheapest you will ever find, it also has some benefits not available with some of the other materials.  To start, it’s very light, so it can be moved around easily.  For anyone who wants to rearrange every so often, it’s a good option.  In addition, the water from the rain won’t do any damage to it at all.  For the most part, the resin will be the same color all the way though, so scratches won’t show up as much and fading will be limited.  Despite being so cheap to buy this kind, it’s still a very durable and long lasting unit to consider when you are looking to buy, but don’t want to spend a ton of money.  It’s a very good option to consider for anyone looking for a cheap outdoor mushroom table and stools set for sale.
